This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X200-10B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X200-10B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X200-10B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 200mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X200-10B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X200-10B is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 200 mm stroke by up to 10 mm on site, giving a usable range of 190-200 mm. This 12 mm bore unit delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (79.2 N / 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa, 11.5 kgf theoretical max at 1.0 MPa) through an M5x0.8 port, and the B code specifies a male rod thread on the 6 mm S45C hard-chrome rod. The 200 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm maximum standard stroke for bore 12, so it is a non-standard, made-to-order build.
The hard-anodized aluminium body keeps the mounting length roughly 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim slides and fixtures where a full-length body will not fit. A fixed TPU bumper at each end decelerates the piston; it never locks or holds a load, and on air loss the piston still drifts. Plan on about 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (roughly 60% of the push rating), which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note: this model is discontinued - the current-production drop-in is ACEJ12X200, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X200-10B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X200-10B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×200 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -10 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to kick light molded caps off a core pin, and the 190-200 mm trim range lets the molder dial the eject position without shimming.
The short body saves about 50% of the length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so the 200 mm stroke fits inside a compact analyzer housing with the male rod thread driving a sample cup.
About 34 N of usable force at 0.5 MPa tucks light flap panels, and the fixed TPU bumpers quiet the end-of-stroke contact at 30-500 mm/s line speeds.
At 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa, bore 12 suits light clamping and positioning; step up to bore 16 (100.5 N push) or bore 20 (157.1 N push) if the load is heavier. The 10 mm window only shortens the extend stroke - it is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock. Mounting is FA/FB flange or LB foot; the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches, and this code has no magnet fitted. This model is discontinued; order ACEJ12X200 as the current replacement and verify ISO 21287 dimensions.
Replacement checklist
Bore 12 mm, stroke 200 mm (made to order, above the 50 mm standard max), push 56.5 N and pull 42.4 N at 0.5 MPa, push 79.2 N and pull 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa, 11.5 kgf theoretical max at 1.0 MPa. Port M5x0.8, rod 6 mm with male thread, pressure 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, -20 to +70 C, fixed TPU bumpers both ends, 10 mm stroke adjustment window.
No - the ACPJ family is discontinued. The current-production replacement is ACEJ12X200 (swap the P for an E), a drop-in in the same bore, stroke and force class; confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping because the ACP is DIN-standard. For sensing, the optional -S magnet code allows CMSE / DMSE switches; this model has no magnet, so no switch can be mounted on it.
