This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X200-10 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X200-10 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X200-10 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 200mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X200-10 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting and adjustable in stroke, the ACPJ12X200-10 is a discontinued DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 12 mm bore and a made-to-order 200 mm stroke. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N, rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical peak of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -10 code adds a stop screw that trims the extend stroke by up to 10 mm, giving a usable 190-200 mm range, and a fixed TPU bumper sits at each end.
The hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome 6 mm rod saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slips into slim fixtures and guarding. As a planning figure, treat roughly 34 N (about 3.4 kg of vertical lift with margin) as the practical output at 0.5 MPa rather than the full rating. This model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ISO 21287 ACEJ12X200, so confirm mounting dimensions before swapping. Air supply is filtered to 40 um, pressure runs 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, and the rod ends in a female M3x0.5 thread with PT ports.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X200-10 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X200-10 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×200 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -10 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |

| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
Ejects stamped terminals or plastic caps off a die or nest, where the 190-200 mm trimmed reach clears the part but the short body fits inside the die shoe.
Presses a probe or connector into a PCB test fixture; without the -S magnet no switch feedback is available, so end position must be judged mechanically or by the stop screw setting.
Raises a lightweight acrylic guard or sensor gate on a packaging line, sized for about 3.4 kg of practical vertical load at 0.5 MPa.
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest ACPJ size: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. Step up to the 16 mm bore for 100.5 N or the 20 mm bore for 157.1 N if the load is heavier. The 200 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is built to order - allow lead time. The stop screw shortens the extend stroke only; it is not a mid-stroke lock, and the piston can drift if air is lost. No magnet is fitted on this code, so position switches cannot be used; order the -S version for CMSE / DMSE sensing. For new projects, specify the ACEJ12X200 instead.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Bore is 12 mm with a 6 mm rod, M5x0.8 ports, female M3x0.5 rod thread, operating pressure 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, and a fixed TPU bumper at both ends. The 200 mm stroke is a made-to-order length above the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore.
The -10 code fits an external stop screw that shortens the extend stroke by up to 10 mm, so the working range is 190-200 mm. It is a mechanical end stop for positioning, not a load-holding brake - the rod can drift if air pressure is lost. The ACPJ family is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ISO 21287 ACEJ12X200, and you should verify mounting dimensions against the DIN-standard ACP footprint before converting.
