This model is discontinued

AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X200-30B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X200-30B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X200-30B

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X200-30B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 200mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X200-30B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.

About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X200-30B

A double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke, the ACPJ12X200-30B runs a 12 mm bore over a 200 mm stroke and trims up to 30 mm of that stroke on site with an external stop screw, giving a usable range of 170-200 mm. Air at 0.5 MPa delivers 56.5 N of push and 42.4 N of pull, and the fixed TPU bumper at each end decelerates the piston. Note that the 200 mm stroke is longer than the 50 mm maximum standard stroke for bore 12, so this is a made-to-order build.

The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which suits slim pick-and-place arms and compact test rigs. In practice, plan on about 34 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, and the B code gives a male rod thread. This model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X200, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X200-30B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

Where the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X200-30B Is Used

science

Compact lab test station

The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to press small sensor caps or apply light test loads, and the 170-200 mm adjustable range fits a bench-top fixture with limited depth.

precision_manufacturing

Small-part ejection on assembly lines

A slim 12 mm bore body about 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder slides into tight ejection pockets, pushing watch parts or connector housings off a nest at 30-500 mm/s.

swap_vert

Light vertical lift in a gantry

With a usable vertical capacity of roughly 2.9 kg, the rod raises small PCB trays or vials between two levels, with the male rod thread taking an I-type knuckle directly.

Replacing the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X200-30B with the ACEJ12X200-30B

At 12 mm bore this is the smallest force class in the family: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa versus 100.5 N for the 16 mm bore and 157.1 N for the 20 mm bore, so step up if your load exceeds about 34 N of real work. The 30 mm window only shortens the extend stroke from 200 mm down to 170 mm; it cannot lengthen it, and it is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod still drifts on air loss. Mounting uses FA/FB flange or LB foot on the ISO 21287 face, and the male rod thread (B code) suits knuckle brackets. No magnet is fitted on this version; order the -S code if you later need CMSE or DMSE switches. For new designs, specify the ACEJ12X200 instead, as this ACPJ is discontinued.

Replacement checklist

  • ✓ Same bore / stroke / force class
  • ✓ Confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions
  • ✓ Port/thread type (PT / G)
  • ✓ Add -S for magnet if you need sensors

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X200-30B FAQ

At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa those rise to 79.2 N and 59.4 N, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -30 code sets a 30 mm adjustment window: a stop screw shortens the 200 mm extend stroke to any point down to 170 mm. It is an end stop only, so the rod is not held against drift if air is lost. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) and speed is 30-500 mm/s.

It is a short-body compact cylinder to the DIN-standard ACP design, with a hard-anodized aluminium body, an S45C hard-chrome 6 mm rod, a fixed TPU bumper at both ends and an M5x0.8 port. Its mounting length is about 50% less than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, and FA/FB flange or LB foot mounts bolt to the ISO 21287 face. The ACPJ family is no longer in production; the current drop-in is the ACEJ12X200, and you should confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before converting. The optional -S magnet enables CMSE or DMSE switches; this version has no magnet.
