This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X200-50S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X200-50S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X200-50S is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 200mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X200-50S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 200 mm stroke by up to 50 mm on site, giving a usable range of 150-200 mm. The 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 200 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a made-to-order item. Note: the ACPJ family is discontinued; the current-production replacement is ACEJ12X200.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim fixtures and guarding where a full-length body cannot. Because roughly 60% of the push force does real work in practice, plan for about 34 N, which lifts about 3 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The body is hard-anodized aluminium with an S45C hard-chrome rod, a fixed TPU bumper at both ends, and the -S code on this model means the magnet is fitted, so CMSE / DMSE switches can be mounted for end-of-stroke sensing.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X200-50S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X200-50S produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×200 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -50 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |

| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa clears stamped clips and grommets off a die face, while the 50 mm window lets the setter trim the 200 mm extend stroke to the exact ejection distance.
With the -S magnet fitted, CMSE or DMSE switches confirm the rod has reached the trimmed end position, useful in electronics test rigs where each cycle must be verified.
The 150-200 mm adjustable range and 30-500 mm/s speed suit sliding sample trays or vial racks in analytical and packaging lab equipment, with the M5x0.8 port keeping plumbing compact.
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest force class in the range: the 16 mm bore gives 100.5 N push and the 20 mm bore gives 157.1 N at 0.5 MPa, so step up if 56.5 N leaves too little headroom. The stop screw only shortens the extend stroke and is not a mid-stroke lock; on air loss the piston still drifts, so do not rely on it to hold a load. FA/FB flange or LB foot mounting and the female M3x0.5 rod thread suit light clamping fixtures. Before ordering, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions of the ACEJ12X200 replacement, since the ACP is DIN-standard.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N; the theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -50 code gives a 50 mm adjustment window, so the 200 mm extend stroke can be trimmed anywhere in a 150-200 mm range. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) and speed is 30-500 mm/s. This stroke is made to order, since the bore 12 standard maximum is 50 mm.
Order the ACEJ12X200, the current ISO 21287 replacement: swap the P for an E and you get the same 12 mm bore, 200 mm stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, because the ACP was built to a DIN standard. The ACEJ keeps the same short-body layout, FA/FB flange and LB foot options, and the optional -S magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches.
