This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X200-75S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X200-75S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X200-75S is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 200mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X200-75S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This ACPJ12X200-75S is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: the -75 stop screw trims the 200 mm stroke by up to 75 mm on site, giving a usable range of 125-200 mm. Air at 0.5 MPa delivers 56.5 N on the push stroke and 42.4 N on the pull stroke, and the fixed TPU bumper at each end absorbs end-of-travel impact. The 200 mm stroke is longer than the 50 mm maximum standard stroke for a 12 mm bore, so this unit is made to order. Note that the ACPJ family is discontinued - the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X200, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which makes it easy to fit into slim jigs, test rigs and sliding guards. Because the S code is on this model, the magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clamped straight onto the hard-anodized aluminium body to report extend and retract positions. For sizing, plan on roughly 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (about 60% of the rated push), which lifts around 3.4 kg vertically - or about 1.7 kg with a 2:1 margin.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X200-75S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X200-75S produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×200 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
Slides sample trays of up to about 1.7 kg into an analyzer at 0.5 MPa, with the 75 mm window letting technicians fine-tune the 125-200 mm insertion depth during calibration.
The fitted magnet drives CMSE switches so a PLC confirms the guard is fully closed and retracted, while the compact body fits the narrow guard channel.
Knocks finished clips off a fixture within a 125-200 mm stroke, with the female M3x0.5 rod thread taking a knuckle for a quick-change pusher tip.
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest force class in the range: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. Step up to the 16 mm bore for 100.5 N push at the same pressure, or drop to it if your load is under about 34 N of actual work. The adjustable window suits machines where the final stop position is tuned during commissioning, but remember the stop screw is a mechanical end stop only - on air loss the piston still drifts, so it is not a load-holding lock. The female M3x0.5 rod thread accepts standard I/Y knuckles, and FA flange or LB foot mounts bolt to the same face. If you are specifying new equipment, order the ACEJ12X200 instead, as the ACPJ is no longer produced.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N; the theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 12 mm bore uses an M5x0.8 port, the rod is 6 mm with a female M3x0.5 thread, and the -75 stop screw trims the 200 mm stroke down to 125 mm. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, and the 200 mm stroke is a made-to-order length since the bore's standard maximum is 50 mm.
Order the ACEJ12X200, the current-production ISO 21287 successor: swap the P for an E and you get the same 12 mm bore, 200 mm stroke and force class in a matching short body. Before swapping, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your existing fixture, because the ACP was built to a DIN-standard footprint. The ACEJ also carries the optional -S magnet code, so CMSE or DMSE switches keep working the same way.
