This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X200-75 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X200-75 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X200-75 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 200mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X200-75 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This discontinued compact cylinder is double acting, trimming its 200 mm extend stroke by up to 75 mm with an external stop screw, so the working range is 125-200 mm. The 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical peak of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Its hard-anodized aluminium body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which matters when the 200 mm body must fit behind a guard or inside a tight gantry.
The 200 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build - confirm lead time before ordering. Plan on roughly 34 N (about 3.5 kgf) of real work at 0.5 MPa, or lift about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The rod end is female M3x0.5, the port is M5x0.8, and no magnet is fitted - the optional -S code is required for CMSE / DMSE switches. For new projects, the current-production drop-in is the ISO 21287 ACEJ12X200; confirm mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X200-75 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X200-75 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×200 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 125-200 mm adjustable range pushes finished nylon clips off a compact injection tool, using about 34 N of usable force at 0.5 MPa.
Lifts roughly 2.9 kg sensor fixtures vertically in an electronics burn-in station, with the stop screw setting the exact top position.
The short body fits where a full-length profile cylinder cannot, advancing PCB trays between stations; add the -S magnet code for CMSE switching.
At 56.5 N push (0.5 MPa) this bore suits light clamping and positioning; step up to bore 16 (100.5 N) or bore 20 (157.1 N) if the load is heavier, or down if space is tighter. The stop screw only shortens the extend stroke - it is not a mid-stroke lock, and the piston drifts on air loss, so add a separate holding valve where a load must stay put. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the ISO 21287 face. Because this model is discontinued, order the ACEJ12X200 as the current replacement.
Replacement checklist
Push is 56.5 N and pull 42.4 N at 0.5 MPa; at 0.7 MPa push is 79.2 N and pull 59.4 N, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is double acting with a 75 mm adjustment window on a 200 mm stroke, M5x0.8 port, female M3x0.5 rod thread, TPU bumper both ends, speed 30-500 mm/s, and operating pressure 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi).
No - the ACPJ family is discontinued. The current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X200 (ISO 21287), which matches the same bore, stroke and force class. Because the ACP is DIN-standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. Also note the 200 mm stroke is made to order, since the bore 12 standard maximum is 50 mm.
