This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X25-10SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X25-10SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X25-10SB is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 25mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X25-10SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This is a double acting, adjustable-stroke compact cylinder with a 12 mm bore and 25 mm stroke, discontinued by AirTAC. The -10 code gives a 10 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw trims the extend stroke on site, so the usable range is 15-25 mm. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 79.2 N. The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it fits slim jigs and guarded stations where a full-length body cannot. The B code gives a male rod thread on the 6 mm rod, and the S code means the magnet is fitted, so CMSE / DMSE switches can be mounted for end-of-stroke sensing.
Plan on roughly 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (about 0.6 of the 56.5 N push rating), which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin - enough for small covers, chutes or light clamps. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, with fixed TPU bumpers at both ends and speed from 30-500 mm/s. Because this model is discontinued, order the current ACEJ12X25 as the drop-in successor and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP was built to a DIN-standard footprint.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X25-10SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X25-10SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×25 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -10 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
Ejects stamped terminals or molded caps off a die with 56.5 N at 0.5 MPa; the 15-25 mm trimmed stroke matches shallow die pockets.
Clamps PCB or bracket fixtures on an SMT line, with the fitted magnet and a CMSE switch confirming the clamp is home before the cycle starts.
Kicks light product gates on packaging conveyors; the compact body mounts beside guide rails where a full-length profile cylinder will not fit.
Size the load against 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa (79.2 N at 0.7 MPa). If the part or clamp needs more, step up to the 16 mm bore at 100.5 N push; if less, the same family works lighter at shorter strokes. The stop screw only shortens the extend stroke within the 10 mm window - it is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod still drifts if air is lost. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face, and the fitted -S magnet accepts CMSE / DMSE switches. For new builds, specify the current-production ACEJ12X25 instead and verify the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N. Theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. As a working rule, count on about 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) at 30-500 mm/s.
The -10 code is a 10 mm window: a stop screw shortens the 25 mm extend stroke to any setting between 15 and 25 mm. It is an end stop only - it never holds a load if air is lost. This model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X25 (same bore, stroke and force class). Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, because the ACP was DIN-standard.
