This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X25-30S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X25-30S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X25-30S is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 25mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X25-30S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X25-30S is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 25 mm stroke within a 30 mm window, giving a usable range of 0-25 mm on site. This 12 mm bore size delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (rising to 79.2 N at 0.7 MPa), which works out to roughly 3.4 kg of vertical lift at 0.5 MPa - about 2 kg with a 2:1 margin, enough for small fixture clamps and light part ejection.
Its hard-anodized aluminium body is an ISO 21287 short build that saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into cramped jig plates and guarding where a full-length body cannot. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends, the S code means the magnet is fitted so CMSE / DMSE reed or solid-state switches can be mounted, and the rod ends in a female M3x0.5 thread. Note: this model is discontinued - the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X25, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X25-30S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X25-30S produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa clamps light aluminium brackets in a drilling jig, while the 30 mm window lets the operator trim the extend stroke to match part thickness without shimming.
With the fitted magnet and a CMSE switch at each end, a 12 mm bore slide confirms home and end positions on a PCB tray indexing station running at 30-500 mm/s.
About 3 kg of vertical push capacity at 0.5 MPa nudges finished caps off a pick-up nest, and the short ISO 21287 body fits inside the tray conveyor frame.
For this 12 mm bore, plan on about 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (roughly 60% of the 56.5 N push rating) rather than the full figure. If your load needs more, the 16 mm bore gives 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa and the 20 mm bore reaches 157.1 N; if less, a smaller stroke window or the fixed-stroke ACP may suit. The adjuster is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only - it does not lock the piston mid-stroke, so on air loss the rod can still drift. The fitted -S magnet pairs with CMSE / DMSE switches, and FA flange or LB foot mounts bolt to the ISO 21287 face. Order the ACEJ12X25 as the current drop-in replacement.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 79.2 N push and 59.4 N pull, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is double acting with a 25 mm stroke adjustable within a 30 mm window, runs on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, and ports at M5x0.8.
An external stop screw shortens the extend stroke anywhere within the ordered 30 mm window, so the effective range is 0-25 mm; it cannot lengthen the stroke past 25 mm, and it is an end stop rather than a mid-stroke lock. The ACPJ family is discontinued - order the ACEJ12X25, the ISO 21287 successor in the same bore, stroke and force class, and confirm its mounting dimensions against your fixture first.
