This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X30-10B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X30-10B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X30-10B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 30mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X30-10B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X30-10B is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: the -10 code gives a 10 mm stop-screw window, so the 30 mm stroke can be trimmed on site anywhere between 20 and 30 mm. At 0.5 MPa the 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull, rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical peak of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. As a rule of thumb, plan on roughly 34 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa, which is about 2.9 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures, pick stations and guarding where a full-length body will not fit. The rod end is male thread (the B code) and the air port is M5x0.8. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X30, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X30-10B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X30-10B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×30 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -10 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to kick lightweight molded caps or bushings off a mold table, and the 20-30 mm adjustable range lets you tune the eject travel without re-plumbing.
A 6 mm rod with male thread drives a small stop blade to halt PCB carriers or connector trays; the short body fits under low conveyor frames where a full-length cylinder cannot.
With about 2.9 kg of practical vertical lift, the cylinder seats vial caps or test strips in benchtop diagnostic equipment, trimming the stroke between 20 and 30 mm to match the fixture.
Size the bore by load: if 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is marginal for your jig, step up to the 16 mm bore (100.5 N push) or the 20 mm bore (157.1 N push); if the load is lighter, this 12 mm bore keeps the envelope smallest. The 10 mm adjustment window shortens the extend stroke only - it is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod can still drift on air loss. No magnet is fitted on this version (no S code), so CMSE or DMSE switches cannot be mounted; order an -S variant if sensing is needed. FA/FB flange and LB foot mounts are available. Since the ACPJ12X30-10B is discontinued, order the ACEJ12X30 as the drop-in successor and verify the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 79.2 N push and 59.4 N pull, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is double acting, runs on 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) filtered air, proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, with a fixed TPU bumper at both ends and an M5x0.8 port.
The -10 code is a stop screw that shortens the extend stroke by up to 10 mm, giving a usable 20-30 mm range; it cannot lengthen the stroke past 30 mm and it does not hold a load on air loss. The ACPJ12X30-10B is discontinued - the current drop-in is the ACEJ12X30, so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. The optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches; this version has none.
