This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X35-30B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X35-30B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X35-30B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 35mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X35-30B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting and adjustable, the ACPJ12X35-30B is a discontinued DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 12 mm bore and 35 mm stroke. A stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere inside the 30 mm window, giving a usable range of 5-35 mm on site. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa those rise to 79.2 N and 59.4 N, with a theoretical 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. In practice plan on roughly 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, which is about 3 kg lifted vertically with a 2:1 margin.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim jigs and guards. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends, the hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, and the B code gives a male rod thread with a PT port thread. This model is no longer produced: the current drop-in is ACEJ12X35, so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X35-30B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X35-30B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×35 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -30 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
Ejects small stamped terminals from a compact die, with the 30 mm window letting you dial the ejection travel between 5 and 35 mm to match part depth.
On the -S version a CMSE or DMSE switch confirms a bracket is seated in a CNC fixture; this non-S unit needs the magnet code added for that role.
The about 3 kg vertical working margin at 0.5 MPa suits tucking light carton flaps on a small packaging line where body length is tight.
Size both ways: if 56.5 N at 0.5 MPa is marginal for your load, step up to the 16 mm bore for 100.5 N; if 56.5 N is generous, the same bore at a shorter fixed stroke in the ACP range may suit a simpler job. Note the stop screw only shortens the extend stroke and drifts on air loss, so it is not a load-holding device. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the ISO 21287 face. No magnet is fitted on this version, so no CMSE / DMSE switch can be used; order the -S code if sensing is needed. Discontinued: replace with ACEJ12X35 and verify mounting dimensions.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa, 79.2 N push and 59.4 N pull; theoretical maximum 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Bore is 12 mm, stroke 35 mm with a 30 mm adjustment window (usable 5-35 mm), rod 6 mm, port M5x0.8 with PT thread, male rod thread per the B code, speed 30-500 mm/s, pressure 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof 1.5 MPa (215 psi), and a fixed TPU bumper at both ends.
The ACPJ family is out of production. The current drop-in is the ISO 21287 ACEJ12X35, which matches the same bore, stroke and force class with a matching short body and mounting family. Because the ACP is DIN-standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before swapping.
