The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X40-20S is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 40mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X40-20S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting and adjustable, the ACPJ12X40-20S is a DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 12 mm bore and 40 mm stroke. A stop screw trims the extend stroke by up to 20 mm on site, giving a usable range of 20-40 mm. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 79.2 N and 59.4 N, with a theoretical 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -S code means the magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clamped straight onto the body for end-of-stroke signalling.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into cramped jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not go.
