About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X40-30SB
The ACPJ12X40-30SB is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable stroke: a stop screw trims the 40 mm extend stroke by up to 30 mm on site, giving a usable range of 10-40 mm. This 12 mm bore unit delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim fixtures a full-length body cannot reach.
In practice, plan for roughly 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (about 0.6 of the rated push), which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin - enough for small covers, chutes or sensor-actuated slides. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, fixed TPU bumpers at both ends, and the -S magnet code of this model, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be mounted directly.
