This model is discontinued

AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X45-10 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X45-10 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X45-10

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X45-10 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 45mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X45-10 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.

About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X45-10

A double acting compact cylinder with adjustable stroke, the ACPJ12X45-10 uses a 12 mm bore to deliver 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa. A stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere within the 10 mm window, so the usable range is 35-45 mm. The short ISO 21287 body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit.

Plan on roughly 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (about 60% of the rated push), which corresponds to lifting about 1.7 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod with a fixed TPU bumper at both ends, running 30-500 mm/s on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi). Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X45, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X45-10 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

Where the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X45-10 Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Small-parts ejection from fixtures

The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to kick machined pins or bushings off a locating nest, and the 35-45 mm trimmed stroke keeps the ejector from bottoming out in a shallow die pocket.

sensors

Clamping thin sheet in electronics assembly

About 34 N of usable holding force at 0.5 MPa secures PCB carrier plates or thin aluminium brackets during a screwdriving cycle, with the short body fitting inside a compact gantry head.

science

Lab and test-rig actuation

The 45 mm stroke, trimmed down to 35 mm by the stop screw, suits sample pushers and micro test stations where the M5x0.8 port and 30-500 mm/s speed band match small-bore pneumatic circuits.

Replacing the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X45-10 with the ACEJ12X45-10

At 12 mm bore this is the smallest force class in the family: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. Step up to the 16 mm bore for 100.5 N push or the 20 mm bore for 157.1 N if the load needs more margin. The stop screw is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only, not a mid-stroke lock, so the piston still drifts if air is lost. The rod ends in a female M3x0.5 thread and the port is M5x0.8. This unit has no magnet because the -S code was not ordered; specify ACPJ12X45-10S if CMSE / DMSE switches are needed. FA/FB flange and LB foot mounts bolt to the ISO 21287 face. Discontinued - order the ACEJ12X45 as the current replacement.

Replacement checklist

  • ✓ Same bore / stroke / force class
  • ✓ Confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions
  • ✓ Port/thread type (PT / G)
  • ✓ Add -S for magnet if you need sensors

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X45-10 FAQ

At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -10 code gives a 10 mm adjustment window, so the stop screw trims the 45 mm extend stroke to any length from 35 to 45 mm. It is double acting, runs 30-500 mm/s, and the fixed TPU bumper at each end decelerates the piston at the ends of travel.

No - the ACPJ12X45-10 is discontinued. The current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X45 (swap the P for an E), an ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before swapping, since the ACP was built to a DIN-standard body. If you need position sensing, order the -S version so the optional magnet is fitted for CMSE / DMSE switches.
