AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X50-10 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X50-10 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X50-10 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 50mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X50-10 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting and adjustable, the ACPJ12X50-10 is a discontinued DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 12 mm bore and 50 mm stroke. Air drives the rod in both directions, and the -10 code gives a 10 mm trim window: a stop screw shortens the extend stroke on site, so the usable range is 40-50 mm. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 79.2 N push and 59.4 N pull, with a theoretical ceiling of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Plan on roughly 34 N (about 3 kg) of real work at 0.5 MPa rather than the full rating, which means it lifts about 2 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim fixtures, pick stations and guarding where a full-length body will not fit. A hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, fixed TPU bumpers sit at both ends, and speed runs 30-500 mm/s at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi). Note that no magnet is fitted on this version, so no switch can be mounted; the optional -S code adds one for CMSE / DMSE sensors. This model is discontinued - the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X50, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
A 12 mm bore pushing 56.5 N at 0.5 MPa is enough to kick light molded clips or caps off the core, and the 40-50 mm trim range lets the molder dial the eject position without re-plumbing.
Electronics benches use the short body where an ISO 15552 profile cylinder is too long; with the optional -S magnet, CMSE / DMSE switches confirm the trimmed end position on each cycle.
About 34 N of usable force at 0.5 MPa seats thin gaskets and labels on cartons, and the stop screw lets operators shorten the 50 mm stroke to match shallow product heights.
Size both ways: if 56.5 N at 0.5 MPa is marginal for your jig, step up to the 16 mm bore for 100.5 N; if the load is only a few newtons, the same bore in a shorter trim window saves cost. The adjuster is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only - it does not lock the piston, so on air loss the rod still drifts and a separate holding method is needed. Mounting is FA/FB flange or LB foot on the ISO 21287 face, and the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches if you need end-position sensing. Since this unit is discontinued, order the ACEJ12X50 as the current replacement and verify the mounting footprint first.
