About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X50-30B
This discontinued AirTAC model is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke. The -30 code sets a 30 mm adjustment window, so the stop screw trims the 50 mm stroke anywhere down to 20 mm on site. At 0.5 MPa the 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull, rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it fits cramped jigs and guarding where a full-length body cannot.
Practical sizing: plan for about 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (roughly 0.6 of the rated push), which lifts about 3 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, fixed TPU bumpers at both ends and a male rod thread (B code) on the 6 mm rod. No magnet is fitted on this version, so CMSE or DMSE switches cannot be used unless you order the -S variant. Production has ended; the current drop-in is the ACEJ12X50, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP series was built to a DIN-standard footprint.
