This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X60-10 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X60-10 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X60-10 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 60mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X60-10 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X60-10 is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 60 mm stroke by up to 10 mm, giving a usable range of 50-60 mm on site. At 0.5 MPa the 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull, rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa. In practice, plan on roughly 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The 60 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for bore 12, so it is a made-to-order stroke. Note this model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is ACEJ12X60.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it fits shallow fixtures and tight guards. A hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, with a fixed TPU bumper at each end and speeds of 30-500 mm/s. No magnet is fitted on this version, so position switches cannot be mounted; order the -S code for the optional magnet that accepts CMSE / DMSE switches. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi).

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X60-10 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa ejects machined pins or molded inserts off a locating jig, and the 10 mm adjustment window lets you trim the 60 mm stroke to match each fixture depth.
The short body, about 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, slips behind guarding where space is tight; add the -S magnet code if CMSE / DMSE switch feedback is needed later.
With about 2.9 kg of vertical lift capability at a 2:1 margin, this bore suits light capping and sample-pressing stations running at 30-500 mm/s on 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) air.
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest force class: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. If your load needs more, step up to bore 16 (100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa) or bore 20 (157.1 N). The stop screw is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only - it does not lock the piston mid-stroke, and on air loss the rod still drifts, so do not rely on it to hold a load. Mounting options are FA/FB flange and LB foot, with I/Y rod knuckles available; the rod end here is female M3x0.5. This model is discontinued - swap to ACEJ12X60 and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions first, since ACP follows a DIN-standard footprint.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa push is 79.2 N and pull 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is double acting with a 12 mm bore, 60 mm made-to-order stroke (standard max for bore 12 is 50 mm) trimmed by a 10 mm adjustment window, M5x0.8 ports, female M3x0.5 rod thread, fixed TPU bumpers, speed 30-500 mm/s and 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) operating pressure. The model is discontinued; the replacement is ACEJ12X60.
An external stop screw shortens the extend stroke within the ordered 10 mm window, so the rod stops anywhere between 50 and 60 mm; it never lengthens the stroke past 60 mm. The stop is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock - the rod can still drift if air is lost. Switches need the optional -S magnet code (this version has no magnet); with -S fitted, CMSE / DMSE reed or solid-state switches mount on the body.
