This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X60-30B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X60-30B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X60-30B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 60mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X60-30B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X60-30B is a double acting, adjustable-stroke compact cylinder in the 12 mm bore class, built on a hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome 6 mm rod and a fixed TPU bumper at each end. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N, rising to 79.2 N on the extend side at 0.7 MPa. The -30 code gives a 30 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere between 30 and 60 mm, so one cylinder serves several fixture positions. Note the 60 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for bore 12, so this is a made-to-order build.
Practically, plan on roughly 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa (about 0.6 of the rated force), which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, ideal for slim jigs and guarding. The rod end is male thread (B code) and the air port is M5x0.8. This model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X60, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X60-30B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X60-30B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×60 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -30 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 30-60 mm trimmed extend stroke and 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa suit knocking lightweight finished parts off a mold or nest on an injection machine.
With about 34 N of usable push force and a 6 mm male-thread rod, this cylinder clamps vials or small test fixtures inside compact benchtop automation.
The short body fits under low-profile belt frames, and the adjustable stop lets you tune the divert position for small electronic components.
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest ACPJ size: 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa, with 11.5 kgf theoretical maximum at 1.0 MPa. If your load needs more, step up to the 16 mm bore (100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa) or the 20 mm bore (157.1 N). The stop screw is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only - it does not lock the piston mid-stroke, and on air loss the rod still drifts, so do not rely on it to hold a load. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face, and the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches; this code has no S, so no magnet is fitted. Order the ACEJ12X60 as the current drop-in successor.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa push is 79.2 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -30 code is a 30 mm adjustment window: the external stop screw shortens the 60 mm extend stroke by up to 30 mm, giving a usable range of 30-60 mm. The 60 mm stroke is non-standard for bore 12 (standard maximum 50 mm), so it is made to order.
The ISO 21287-class short body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it fits tight jigs and guards. Position sensing needs the optional -S magnet code with CMSE or DMSE switches; this model has no S code, so no magnet is fitted and no switch can be mounted. The model is discontinued - the ACEJ12X60 is the current replacement, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before ordering.
