About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X60-40B
The ACPJ12X60-40B is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 60 mm stroke by up to 40 mm, giving a usable range of 20-60 mm. Its 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (79.2 N / 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa), with a theoretical peak of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 60 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard for this bore, so it is a made-to-order stroke. This model is discontinued - the current-production replacement is ACEJ12X60.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim fixtures and guarded cells. As a rule of thumb, plan on about 34 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa (0.6 of the push force), which lifts roughly 1.7 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The B code gives a male 6 mm rod thread, the port is M5x0.8, and a fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends. No magnet is fitted on this version; the optional -S code adds one for CMSE / DMSE switches. Confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping to the ACEJ.

At 12 mm bore this is the smallest ACPJ size: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. Step up to the 16 mm bore for 100.5 N push, or down is not available - 12 mm is the entry size. If you need position sensing, order the -S variant, since this B-code model has no magnet and no CMSE / DMSE switch can be mounted. FA/FB flange and LB foot mounts suit tight panels. Note the adjuster is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke, not a mid-stroke lock - on air loss the rod still drifts. For new designs, specify the ACEJ12X60 and confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.

The ACPJ family is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is ACEJ12X60, so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
