This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X60-75B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X60-75B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X60-75B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 60mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X60-75B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This discontinued AirTAC model is a double acting, adjustable-stroke compact cylinder with a 12 mm bore and a 60 mm stroke. Air drives the rod in both directions, and an external stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere within the ordered 75 mm window, giving a usable range of 0-60 mm. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa those figures rise to 79.2 N and 59.4 N, with a theoretical ceiling of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 60 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build. The male rod thread (B code) bolts straight to I/Y knuckles on the ISO 21287 face.
The short ISO 21287 body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into cramped fixtures, slides and guarding. In practice, plan for roughly 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (about 0.6 of the push rating), which corresponds to lifting about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note that the stop screw is a mechanical end stop only: on air loss the piston still drifts, so it is not a load-holding lock. No magnet is fitted (no S code), so no CMSE or DMSE switch can be mounted unless you order the optional -S version. This model is discontinued; the current drop-in is the ACEJ12X60, and you should confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X60-75B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X60-75B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×60 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa seats dowel pins or press-fits tiny bushings in electronics assembly jigs, with the stop screw dialing in the exact extend depth within the 75 mm window.
Drives a compact pneumatic slide carrying light plastic trays between pick points on a benchtop automation cell, where the short body fits under a low guard.
Clamps small PCB assemblies into a go/no-go test nest; about 2.9 kg of vertical lift equivalent gives a 2:1 margin when the fixture is mounted face-up.
Size up or down by force: the 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa, while the 12 mm bore here gives 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at the same pressure. If your fixture needs position sensing, order the -S magnet code, because this B-code version carries no magnet and accepts no CMSE / DMSE switch. FA/FB flanges and LB feet bolt to the standard ISO 21287 face. Since the ACPJ family is discontinued, spec the ACEJ12X60 as the current-production replacement and verify the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your existing holes.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -75 code is a 75 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw shortens the 60 mm extend stroke on site, so the usable range is 0-60 mm. The 60 mm stroke is a made-to-order build because it exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for the 12 mm bore. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, and the TPU bumper at each end is fixed. This model is discontinued; the ACEJ12X60 is the current drop-in.
It is an ISO 21287 short-body cylinder with a hard-anodized aluminium body and an S45C hard-chrome rod, saving about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder. The rod end is male thread (B code) and the air port is M5x0.8. A magnet is not fitted on this version, so no CMSE or DMSE switch can be used; the optional -S magnet code enables sensing. FA/FB flange and LB foot mounts bolt to the standard face. Since the ACPJ is discontinued, confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions and switch to the ACEJ12X60.
