This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X60-75SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X60-75SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X60-75SB is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 60mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X60-75SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X60-75SB is a discontinued double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: an external stop screw trims the 60 mm stroke on site within the ordered 75 mm window, giving a usable range of 0-60 mm. Air drives the rod in both directions, a fixed TPU bumper decelerates at each end, and the hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome rod runs at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) and 30-500 mm/s. The 60 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for bore 12, so this unit is a made-to-order build.
At 0.5 MPa the 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull (79.2 N / 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa, 11.5 kgf theoretical max). Plan on roughly 34 N of real work - about 3 kg lifted vertically with a 2:1 margin - rather than the full rating. The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, and the fitted -S magnet accepts CMSE / DMSE switches. For new projects order the current ACEJ12X60, confirming ISO 21287 mounting dimensions first.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X60-75SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X60-75SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×60 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa and trimmed extend stroke let a mold shop eject light nylon or POM parts from a tight die pocket, with the 0-60 mm range set on site by the stop screw.
With the fitted -S magnet driving CMSE or DMSE switches, an electronics assembly line confirms clamp-and-return on PCB test fixtures using the 42.4 N pull stroke.
The short body, about 50% shorter in mounting length than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, fits inside a cable-assembly jig where the 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa seats small connector pins.
Size up or down from this 12 mm bore by force: the 16 mm bore gives 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa and the 20 mm bore 157.1 N, while this unit's 56.5 N push / 42.4 N pull suits light clamping and positioning. Remember the stop screw is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke, not a mid-stroke lock - on air loss the piston still drifts, so add a separate holding valve for suspended loads. The male rod thread (B code) and PT ports suit direct knuckle mounting, and the fitted -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switch feedback. This model is discontinued; the ACEJ12X60 is the current-production drop-in in the same bore, stroke and force class - verify ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
Replacement checklist
Push is 56.5 N and pull 42.4 N at 0.5 MPa; at 0.7 MPa push rises to 79.2 N and pull to 59.4 N, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is double acting with a 75 mm adjustment window on the 60 mm stroke, M5x0.8 ports, a 6 mm male-thread rod, speed 30-500 mm/s, fixed TPU bumpers at both ends, and a fitted -S magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches. The 60 mm stroke is a made-to-order length above the 50 mm standard maximum for bore 12.
AirTAC no longer produces the ACPJ family. The current drop-in is the ACEJ12X60 - swap the P for an E - which matches the same 12 mm bore, 60 mm stroke and force class in the ISO 21287 short-body format. Because the ACPJ was built to a DIN-standard compact layout, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions and FA/LB mounting interfaces against your fixture before ordering the replacement.
