This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X60-75 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X60-75 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X60-75 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 60mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X60-75 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X60-75 is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 60 mm stroke on site within the ordered 75 mm window, so the working range runs from near zero up to the full 60 mm. It is a DIN-standard short-body unit, not a profile cylinder, and its hard-anodized aluminium body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it fits cramped jigs and guarding frames. Note that the 60 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for the 12 mm bore, so this is a made-to-order build.
At 0.5 MPa this bore pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N (79.2 N / 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa, 11.5 kgf theoretical maximum), enough for light clamping and sorting tasks. Plan on roughly 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, which is about 3 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin. The rod carries a female M3x0.5 thread, ports are M5x0.8, and a fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends. This model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X60, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X60-75 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X60-75 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×60 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
Trims the extend stroke on the fly to eject finished watch or connector pins from a fixture, using the 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa for light parts.
Fits inside a bench-top leak or go/no-go gauge head where a full-length profile cylinder will not, with the stroke trimmed to the part height.
Swings a lightweight diverter flap on a packaging line, with the female M3x0.5 rod thread taking a knuckle directly.
Size both ways: the 12 mm bore gives 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa; step down is not available in this family, while the 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa if your load needs more. The stop screw shortens the extend stroke only within the 75 mm window and never holds a load on air loss, so add an external stop if position must be kept. No magnet is fitted on this version, so no CMSE or DMSE switch can be used; order an -S code if sensing is needed. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face. This model is discontinued and replaced by the ACEJ12X60.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa: 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull. At 0.7 MPa: 79.2 N push and 59.4 N pull. Theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. In practice plan on about 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, roughly 3 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s.
The -75 code is a 75 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw shortens the 60 mm extend stroke on site, so the usable range is 0-60 mm. It is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, and the piston still drifts on air loss. The ACPJ family is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X60 in the same bore, stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard.
