The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X70-40 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 70mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X70-40 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X70-40 is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 70 mm stroke by up to 40 mm on site, giving a usable range of 30-70 mm. This 12 mm bore unit delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (79.2 N / 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa), with a theoretical peak of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Its hard-anodized aluminium body and S45C hard-chrome rod run on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), 30-500 mm/s.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit. The 70 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for bore 12, so it is a made-to-order build. Note the adjuster is a mechanical end stop only - on air loss the piston still drifts, so it never holds a load. This model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X70, and buyers should confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

The 30-70 mm trim range and 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa suit nudging finished clips or caps off a mold table where space beside the tool is minimal.
A 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa swings light interlock gates on inspection cabinets; add the -S magnet code if you later need CMSE / DMSE position feedback.
The 6 mm rod and M5x0.8 ports fit micro slide assemblies that index vials or slides, with the stop screw set to a repeatable trimmed stroke.
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest force class in the range: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. If your load needs more, step up to the 16 mm bore (100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa) or the 20 mm bore (157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa). For a real-world margin, plan on about 34 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa, which corresponds to lifting roughly 1.7 kg vertically with a 2:1 safety factor. Mounting is FA/FB flange or LB foot; the rod end here is female M3x0.5, and the male-thread B variant is available if your tooling needs it. No magnet is fitted on this code - order the -S version if you need CMSE / DMSE switch positions. Since the ACPJ is discontinued, spec the ACEJ12X70 as the current replacement and verify the ISO 21287 footprint.

The ACPJ family is discontinued; the ACEJ12X70 is the current ISO 21287 drop-in in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm its mounting dimensions before converting.
