This model is discontinued

AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X75-10B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X75-10B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-10B

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-10B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 75mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X75-10B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.

About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-10B

The ACPJ12X75-10B is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 75 mm stroke by up to 10 mm on site, giving a usable 65-75 mm range. It is a discontinued DIN-standard short-body unit, and the current-production drop-in is the ISO 21287 ACEJ12X75 - confirm the mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP follows the older DIN pattern. At 0.5 MPa the 12 mm bore pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N, rising to 79.2 N / 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa with a theoretical 11.5 kgf peak.

The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim fixtures, sliding doors and test rigs where a full-length body will not fit. Applying the usual 0.6 rule of thumb, plan on roughly 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa - enough to lift about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note the 75 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for bore 12, so this is a made-to-order build. This version has no magnet (the optional -S code adds one for CMSE / DMSE switches), a male rod thread (B code), fixed TPU bumpers at both ends, and runs at 30-500 mm/s on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi).

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X75-10B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

Where the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-10B Is Used

science

Benchtop test station clamping

The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa and 65-75 mm trimmable stroke suit clamping small PCB fixtures or sensor housings on a lab bench, where the 10 mm stop screw lets you dial in exact clamp travel without re-plumbing.

settings

Small sliding-gate actuation

With about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder saved, this 12 mm bore slides lightweight guards or chutes in packaging micro-machines, pulling 42.4 N on retract at 0.5 MPa.

vertical_align_bottom

Light parts eject from a die

At roughly 2.9 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin, the male-threaded 6 mm rod can kick small moulded caps or stamped washers off a punch tool, with the fixed TPU bumper softening each end of the 75 mm travel.

Replacing the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-10B with the ACEJ12X75-10B

Size up if 56.5 N at 0.5 MPa is marginal: the 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N push and the 20 mm bore 157.1 N in the same compact family. Size down only if your load is under about 34 N of real work. The stop screw is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke, not a mid-stroke lock - on air loss the piston still drifts, so do not rely on it to hold a load. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face, and the male rod thread (B) suits I/Y knuckles directly. For new designs, order the ACEJ12X75 instead: same bore, stroke and force class, currently in production.

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-10B FAQ

At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 79.2 N push and 59.4 N pull, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, on air filtered to 40 um. The 75 mm stroke is made to order because bore 12 tops out at 50 mm as a standard stroke.

The -10 code gives a 10 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw shortens the extend stroke anywhere within 65-75 mm; it cannot lengthen travel past the ordered 75 mm. The stop is an end stop only - it never holds a load if air is lost. The ACPJ family is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X75 (ISO 21287, same bore, stroke and force class). Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard. This unit has no magnet; the optional -S code enables CMSE / DMSE switch mounting.
