This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X75-10S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X75-10S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-10S is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 75mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X75-10S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This ACPJ12X75-10S is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 75 mm stroke by up to 10 mm on site, giving a usable range of 65-75 mm. The 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (79.2 N / 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa), with a theoretical peak of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Note that the 75 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm maximum standard stroke for bore 12, so this unit is made to order.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim fixtures where a full-length body cannot. Because about 0.6 of the push force is a practical working figure, plan on roughly 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa - enough to lift about 3 kg vertically, or about 1.7 kg with a 2:1 margin. The -S code on this model means the magnet is fitted, so CMSE / DMSE switches can be mounted for end-of-stroke sensing. This ACPJ series is discontinued; the current drop-in is ACEJ12X75 - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X75-10S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X75-10S produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×75 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -10 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The fitted -S magnet pairs with CMSE / DMSE switches, so a 65-75 mm trimmed extend stroke can be confirmed electronically on small parts feeders in electronics assembly.
With a body roughly 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, the 12 mm bore suits clamping inside tight jig walls where 56.5 N at 0.5 MPa is sufficient hold-down force.
The 65-75 mm adjustable range and 30-500 mm/s speed band let a benchtop analytical or packaging machine index light sample trays of about 1.7 kg with a 2:1 margin.
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest force class in the range: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. Step up to bore 16 for 100.5 N or bore 20 for 157.1 N at the same pressure if the load needs more headroom. The stop screw only shortens the extend stroke - it is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so the piston still drifts if air is lost. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings plus I/Y rod knuckles bolt to the standard face. This model carries the optional -S magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches. Order ACEJ12X75 as the current-production replacement.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N. The theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, and the port is M5x0.8. For real work, plan on about 34 N (roughly 0.6 of the push figure), which lifts about 1.7 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.
The -10 code is a 10 mm window: a stop screw at the head shortens the 75 mm extend stroke by up to 10 mm, so the working range is 65-75 mm. It is a mechanical end stop only - it never holds a load if air is lost. The ACPJ series is discontinued; order ACEJ12X75 as the current drop-in (same bore, stroke and force class) and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions first, since the ACP is DIN-standard.
