This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X75-10SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X75-10SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-10SB is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 75mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X75-10SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X75-10SB is a discontinued double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke. Air drives the piston both ways, and a stop screw trims the 75 mm stroke by up to 10 mm, giving a usable range of 65-75 mm. At 0.5 MPa the 12 mm bore pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 79.2 N push. The 75 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a made-to-order stroke. This model carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE / DMSE reed or solid-state switches can be mounted directly on the hard-anodized aluminium body.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it suits tight jigs, guards and gantries. The male rod thread (B code) takes an external knuckle, and fixed TPU bumpers pad both ends. For sizing, treat roughly 34 N (about 0.6 of the push force) as the practical working effort at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 3 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X75; confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since ACP is DIN-standard.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X75-10SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X75-10SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×75 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -10 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to strip tiny stamped or molded parts off a nest, while the 65-75 mm adjustable range lets the operator dial the eject position without re-machining the jig.
Because the -S magnet is fitted, a CMSE switch on the hard-anodized body confirms end-of-stroke on the trimmed 65-75 mm extend position, feeding a pass/fail signal to the PLC.
With about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder saved, the short body fits inside a machine guard where a full-length body cannot, holding roughly 34 N of practical clamp effort.
Size both ways: if 56.5 N at 0.5 MPa is marginal for your clamp or eject load, step up to the 16 mm bore (100.5 N push); if the load is under about 30 N, the same 12 mm bore in a shorter ACPJ stroke may be enough. The 10 mm adjustment window only shortens the extend stroke - it is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so the piston still drifts on air loss. Match FA/FB flange or LB foot mounts and I/Y rod knuckles to the male thread, and order CMSE or DMSE switches only because this unit carries the -S magnet. For new designs, specify the ACEJ12X75 instead.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa, 79.2 N push and 59.4 N pull; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -10 code gives a 10 mm adjustment window, so the external stop screw trims the 75 mm extend stroke down to 65 mm. The 75 mm stroke is non-standard for the 12 mm bore (standard maximum is 50 mm) and is made to order. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, and the port is M5x0.8.
No - the ACPJ family is discontinued. The current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X75, an ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, because ACP is DIN-standard. The male rod thread, FA/FB flange and LB foot mounting family carry over, and the -S magnet code for CMSE / DMSE switches is ordered the same way.
