AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X75-10 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-10 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 75mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X75-10 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X75-10 is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 75 mm stroke by up to 10 mm, giving a usable 65-75 mm range on site. It is a DIN-standard short-body unit with a hard-anodized aluminium body, an S45C hard-chrome 6 mm rod and a fixed TPU bumper at each end. Note that the 75 mm stroke is longer than the 50 mm maximum standard stroke for bore 12, so this is a made-to-order build. The model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is ACEJ12X75.
At 0.5 MPa this 12 mm bore pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N (79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa, 11.5 kgf theoretical maximum). As a rule of thumb, plan on roughly 34 N of real work, which lifts about 3 kg vertically with margin. The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding. No magnet is fitted on this code; order the -S variant if you need CMSE / DMSE switch sensing.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa and the 65-75 mm trimmed stroke suit knocking light aluminium or plastic parts off a CNC jig face after machining.
With about 34 N of usable force and a 6 mm hard-chrome rod, this cylinder presses test caps onto small vials in a benchtop assembly rig.
The short body fits inside a tight packing-head frame, and the 10 mm adjustment window lets operators fine-tune the flap-tuck depth without shimming.
Size both ways: if 56.5 N of push at 0.5 MPa is marginal for your jig, step up to bore 16 (100.5 N push) or bore 20 (157.1 N); if the load is under about 34 N, this bore is the leanest choice. The adjuster is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only - it does not lock the piston mid-stroke, and on air loss the rod still drifts, so add a separate valve or lock for load holding. Mount with FA/FB flange or LB foot, and remember the magnet is the optional -S code. This model is discontinued - swap to ACEJ12X75 and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions first.

The -10 code gives a 10 mm window: a stop screw shortens the 75 mm extend stroke to any setting between 65 and 75 mm; it cannot lengthen the stroke past 75 mm. The TPU bumper at each end only decelerates the piston at the ends and never holds a load. The ACPJ family is discontinued - the current drop-in is ACEJ12X75, so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
