This model is discontinued

AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X75-20SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X75-20SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-20SB

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-20SB is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 75mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X75-20SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.

About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-20SB

This AirTAC ACPJ12X75-20SB is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: the -20 stop screw trims the 75 mm stroke by up to 20 mm on site, giving a usable range of 55-75 mm. Air works both ways, pushing 56.5 N and pulling 42.4 N at 0.5 MPa, and the 12 mm bore runs on M5x0.8 ports at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi). The 75 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build.

The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into slim jigs and guarding where a full-length body cannot. Because the S code is on this model, the magnet is fitted and CMSE / DMSE reed or solid-state switches can be clipped on for end-of-stroke sensing. For sizing, treat roughly 34 N (about 0.6 of the push force) as the practical working effort at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note this model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is ACEJ12X75, and you should confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping since the ACP is DIN-standard.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X75-20SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

Where the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-20SB Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Small-part ejection from plastic moulds

The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to kick lightweight moulded clips or caps off a nest, and the 55-75 mm adjustable range lets the operator tune the eject position without re-machining the fixture.

sensors

Position-verified gate latch on a packaging line

With the fitted magnet and a CMSE switch, the PLC gets a positive closed signal at the trimmed stroke end, confirming the gate is latched before the filler head drops.

compress

Light clamping of PCB test fixtures

About 34 N of practical working force at 0.5 MPa holds a small circuit board against a test pogo-pin block, and the male M3x0.5 rod thread takes a custom pressure foot directly.

Replacing the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-20SB with the ACEJ12X75-20SB

At 12 mm bore this is the smallest force step in the ACPJ range: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. If your load needs more, step up to the 16 mm bore (100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa) or the 20 mm bore (157.1 N). If 56.5 N is generous for the job, there is no smaller ACPJ bore, so check whether a shorter stroke or lower pressure suits instead. The B code gives a male 6 mm rod with M3x0.5 male thread, handy for direct tooling attachment. The adjuster is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only, not a mid-stroke lock, so the piston still drifts if air is lost. FA/FB flange or LB foot mounts bolt to the standard face, and this unit is discontinued - order ACEJ12X75 as the current replacement and verify ISO 21287 mounting dimensions first.

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-20SB FAQ

At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is a 12 mm bore, 75 mm stroke double acting cylinder with a 20 mm adjustment window (usable 55-75 mm), M5x0.8 ports, 6 mm rod with male M3x0.5 thread, TPU bumpers both ends, speed 30-500 mm/s, air filtered to 40 um, and a fitted -S magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches. The 75 mm stroke is a made-to-order length above the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore.

No - the ACPJ family is discontinued and this model is no longer in production. The current-production drop-in is ACEJ12X75, which swaps the P for an E and matches the same bore, stroke and force class in the ISO 21287 short-body format. Because the ACP was built to a DIN standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before ordering the swap.
