This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X75-20 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X75-20 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-20 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 75mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X75-20 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 75 mm stroke by up to 20 mm, giving a usable range of 55-75 mm. The 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa), with a theoretical peak of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 75 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard for this bore, so it is a made-to-order stroke. Note this model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X75.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures where a full-length body will not fit. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends, and the hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome 6 mm rod with an M3x0.5 female thread. As a rule of thumb, plan on about 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (roughly 60% of the push rating), which lifts about 1.7 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. No magnet is fitted on this version, so position switches cannot be mounted.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X75-20 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X75-20 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×75 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -20 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 55-75 mm trimmed extend range ejects finished clips or pins from a jig, with 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa enough for light plastic parts.
The short body, about 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, fits inside guarded clamping stations where space is limited.
The 6 mm hard-chrome rod with M3x0.5 female thread drives a lightweight diverter gate at 30-500 mm/s to route small cartons between lanes.
At 12 mm bore you get 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa; if your load needs more, the 16 mm bore gives 100.5 N and the 20 mm bore 157.1 N under the same pressure. The stop screw is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only - on air loss the piston still drifts, so do not rely on it to hold a load mid-stroke. Mounting is FA/FB flange or LB foot, and the optional -S magnet code enables CMSE / DMSE switches if you later need position sensing. Since this model is discontinued, order the ACEJ12X75 as the drop-in successor and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The bore is 12 mm, stroke 75 mm (non-standard, made to order, since the bore's standard maximum is 50 mm), with a 20 mm adjustment window giving 55-75 mm. Port is M5x0.8, rod thread M3x0.5 female, pressure 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, and a fixed TPU bumper at both ends.
No - the ACPJ family is discontinued. The current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X75 (swap the P for an E), which matches the same bore, stroke and force class in the ISO 21287 short-body format. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before swapping, because the ACP was built to a DIN-standard footprint. If you need position sensing on the replacement, order the -S magnet code so CMSE / DMSE switches can be fitted.
