This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X75-30B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X75-30B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-30B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 75mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X75-30B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting compact cylinder in the DIN-standard ACPJ series, the ACPJ12X75-30B carries a 12 mm bore with a 75 mm stroke and a male-threaded 6 mm rod (B code). At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa those figures rise to 79.2 N and 59.4 N, with a theoretical peak of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -30 code gives a 30 mm adjustment window: a stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere in the 45-75 mm range so one cylinder covers several fixture positions. Note that the 75 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore, so it is a made-to-order item.
The hard-anodized aluminium body is an ISO 21287 short build that saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into slim pick-and-place heads and guarded test rigs. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends. Plan on about 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa (roughly 0.6 of the rating), which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. This model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X75, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. The optional -S magnet is not fitted on this code, so no CMSE / DMSE switch can be mounted unless you order the S version.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X75-30B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X75-30B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×75 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -30 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa clears lightweight moulded clips and caps from shallow cavities, and the 45-75 mm adjustable range lets one cylinder serve several mould sizes.
With about 34 N of usable working force, the male-threaded rod grips PCBs or small housings against a fixture stop in electronics QC benches where panel space is tight.
The 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa folds small carton flaps at up to 500 mm/s, and the short ISO 21287 body fits inside the folding head where a full-length cylinder will not.
Size against neighbours: the 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa while the 12 mm here gives 56.5 N, so step up if your mechanism needs more than about 34 N of working force. If you need a fixed stroke instead of a trimmed one, the ACP12X75 is the related fixed-stroke type, also discontinued in favour of the ACE. The adjuster is a mechanical end stop only - on air loss the piston still drifts, so it must never be relied on to hold a load. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the ISO 21287 face. Order the -S code if you later want CMSE / DMSE sensing. Replacement: ACEJ12X75.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -30 code is a 30 mm adjustment window, so the stop screw trims the 75 mm extend stroke anywhere between 45 and 75 mm. The 75 mm stroke is a made-to-order length because the bore 12 standard maximum is 50 mm. This model is discontinued - the ACEJ12X75 is the current replacement.
It is an ISO 21287 short-body cylinder with a hard-anodized aluminium body, S45C hard-chrome 6 mm rod and fixed TPU bumpers at both ends, saving about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder. Ports are M5x0.8, pressure range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) and speed is 30-500 mm/s. Sensing requires the optional -S magnet, which this B-code model does not carry, so no CMSE / DMSE switch can be fitted unless you order the S version. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings are available.
