This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X75-30SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X75-30SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-30SB is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 75mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X75-30SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting and adjustable in stroke, the ACPJ12X75-30SB is a discontinued DIN-standard compact cylinder: a 12 mm bore pushing 56.5 N (pull 42.4 N) at 0.5 MPa, with a stop screw that trims the 75 mm extend stroke by up to 30 mm for a usable 45-75 mm range. The male rod thread (B code) and the optional -S magnet this model carries let CMSE / DMSE switches report position. Its hard-anodized aluminium body runs 30-500 mm/s on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi).
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight test fixtures and small gantries. Note the 75 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for bore 12, so it is a made-to-order build. For sizing: at 0.5 MPa the push force supports roughly 34 N (about 3.5 kg) of real work with a 0.6 factor, or lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. This model is discontinued; the current drop-in is ACEJ12X75 - confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X75-30SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X75-30SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×75 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -30 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa ejects slide vials or microplate rows, and the 45-75 mm trimmed stroke matches shallow drawer travel.
About 34 N of usable work force seats nylon bushings or labels in electronics assembly jigs where a full-length cylinder will not fit.
With the -S magnet fitted, CMSE or DMSE switches confirm the gate is fully extended; the male rod thread bolts straight to a linkage.
At 12 mm bore you get 56.5 N push / 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa; step up to the 16 mm bore for 100.5 N push or down is not available since 12 mm is the smallest ACPJ bore. The 30 mm window only shortens the extend stroke - it is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod still drifts on air loss. This unit has the -S magnet fitted and a male rod thread; if you need a female thread or no magnet, order a different code. Replacement: ACEJ12X75, same bore, stroke and force class.
Replacement checklist
Push 56.5 N and pull 42.4 N at 0.5 MPa; push 79.2 N and pull 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa; theoretical maximum 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, port M5x0.8, rod 6 mm with male thread. The 75 mm stroke is a made-to-order length above the 50 mm standard maximum for bore 12.
The -30 code sets a 30 mm window: an external stop screw shortens the 75 mm extend stroke anywhere down to 45 mm, with fixed TPU bumpers at both ends. The stop is not a brake, so the load can drift if air is lost. This ACPJ is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is ACEJ12X75 in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before you swap.
