This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X75-30 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X75-30 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-30 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 75mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X75-30 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X75-30 is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable stroke: a stop screw trims the 75 mm extend stroke by up to 30 mm, giving a usable range of 45-75 mm. In the 12 mm bore class it delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (79.2 N / 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa, 11.5 kgf theoretical max). The 75 mm stroke is longer than the 50 mm standard limit for bore 12, so it is a made-to-order build.
Its short ISO 21287-style body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim fixtures and guarding. A practical sizing rule: plan on roughly 34 N (about 3.4 kg of force) of real work at 0.5 MPa, and expect it to lift about 2.8 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note this model is discontinued - the current drop-in is the ACEJ12X75; confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X75-30 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X75-30 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×75 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -30 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
Trims the extend stroke between 45 and 75 mm to nudge finished 3D-printed or machined micro-parts off a nest, using the 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa.
The short body fits behind machine guarding where a full-length profile cylinder will not; add the -S magnet code if CMSE / DMSE position switches are needed later.
About 34 N of usable clamping force at 0.5 MPa secures small circuit boards during a test or marking step, with the TPU bumper softening both ends.
For light clamping and positioning, compare the 16 mm bore (100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa) if 56.5 N is marginal, or step down from a 16 mm build where 56.5 N suffices. The adjuster is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only - it does not hold a load if air is lost. Rod end is female M3x0.5; FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings fit the standard face. This model has no magnet (the -S code adds one for CMSE / DMSE switches). Discontinued: order the ACEJ12X75 as the current replacement.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa, 79.2 N push and 59.4 N pull; theoretical max 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is double acting, bore 12 mm, stroke 75 mm with a 30 mm adjustment window (45-75 mm usable), rod 6 mm with female M3x0.5 thread, M5x0.8 port, speed 30-500 mm/s, operating pressure 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof 1.5 MPa (215 psi). The 75 mm stroke is non-standard for this bore and made to order.
An external stop screw shortens the extend stroke anywhere within the ordered 30 mm window - it cannot extend past 75 mm, and it is not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod still drifts on air loss. The ACPJ family is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X75 in the same bore, stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP follows the DIN standard.
