About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-40B
This double acting compact cylinder carries a 12 mm bore with a 75 mm stroke and a 40 mm adjustment window, so an external stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere in a 35-75 mm range on site. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N, rising to 79.2 N / 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa. Because the short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, it slots into slim fixtures and guarding where a full-length body cannot. Note the 75 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard limit for bore 12, so it is a made-to-order stroke.
Plan on roughly 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (about 60% of the rated push), which is a vertical lift of about 3 kg - halve that to around 1.5 kg for a 2:1 margin when matching a part weight. The rod end is male thread (B code) and the port is M5x0.8. No magnet is fitted on this version; the optional -S code adds one for CMSE / DMSE switches. The ACPJ family is discontinued - the current drop-in is the ACEJ12X75, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

At 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa this 12 mm bore suits light clamping and positioning; step up to bore 16 (100.5 N) or bore 20 (157.1 N) if the load is heavier. The 40 mm window means you can dial the extend stroke from 35 to 75 mm, but the stop screw is a mechanical end stop only - on air loss the piston still drifts, so it is not a load-holding lock. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face. Order the -S variant if you need magnet-based CMSE / DMSE sensing. For new designs, specify the ACEJ12X75 replacement instead.
