This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X75-40 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X75-40 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-40 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 75mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X75-40 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X75-40 is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 75 mm stroke by up to 40 mm, giving a usable range of 35-75 mm. This 12 mm bore size delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (79.2 N / 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa), and its short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into cramped jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit.
The 75 mm stroke is beyond the 50 mm standard maximum for bore 12, so this unit is made to order. A fixed TPU bumper at each end decelerates the piston, the hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, and the rod end is female M3x0.5 with M5x0.8 ports. Note the adjuster is a mechanical end stop only - on air loss the piston still drifts, so it never holds a load. This model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X75, and you should confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. As a sizing rule, plan on roughly 34 N (about 0.6 of the push force) of real work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X75-40 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X75-40 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
Ejects small stamped terminals or connector pins from a compact die station, where the 35-75 mm adjustable range handles different strip pitches and the 56.5 N push is ample for light parts.
Advances sample vials or slides into a test position on an analytical benchtop unit; the short body fits inside the instrument housing and the stop screw dials in the exact index distance.
Tucks small flap corners on cosmetic or pharmaceutical cartons at a semi-auto bench, with the 40 mm trim window adapting the stroke to different carton heights.
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest force class in the family: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa versus 100.5 N for bore 16 and 157.1 N for bore 20. Choose it for light clamping and positioning under about 34 N of working load; step up to the 16 mm bore if your part weight or friction load approaches that ceiling. The 40 mm window suits stations where one cylinder must serve several product lengths. If you need position feedback, order the -S variant with the optional magnet so CMSE / DMSE switches can be fitted - this code has no magnet. For new designs, specify the ACEJ12X75 instead, and verify the ISO 21287 mounting footprint against your fixture.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa those rise to 79.2 N and 59.4 N, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, air filtered to 40 um. The extend stroke is adjustable from 35-75 mm via the 40 mm stop window, the port is M5x0.8, the rod thread is female M3x0.5, and both ends carry a fixed TPU bumper.
No - the ACPJ family is discontinued. The current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X75 (swap the P for an E), which matches the same 12 mm bore, 75 mm stroke and force class in the ISO 21287 short-body format. Because the ACP was built to a DIN standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before ordering the swap. Also note this exact code has no magnet; only the -S variant accepts CMSE / DMSE switches.
