This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X75-50S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X75-50S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-50S is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 75mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X75-50S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting and adjustable in stroke, the ACPJ12X75-50S is a discontinued DIN-standard compact cylinder: a 12 mm bore pushes 56.5 N at 0.5 MPa (79.2 N at 0.7 MPa, 11.5 kgf theoretical max) through a 6 mm hard-chrome S45C rod. The -50 code gives a 50 mm adjustment window, so a stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere in a 25-75 mm range on site. Note the 75 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a made-to-order length. The fixed TPU bumper at each end only decelerates the piston; it never locks or holds a load.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it suits tight jigs and guarded stations. Because the -S magnet is fitted, CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be mounted for end-of-stroke signals. For sizing, treat roughly 34 N (about 0.6 of the push force) as the usable output at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. This model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X75, so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X75-50S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X75-50S produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×75 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -50 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The fitted -S magnet drives a CMSE switch so the PLC confirms the 25-75 mm trimmed extend position before a screwdriver or press unit cycles.
About 34 N of usable force at 0.5 MPa holds thin plastic lids and test fixtures without crushing, and the stop screw sets the exact clamp gap.
The short body, roughly half the length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, fits inside benchtop instrument frames while the M5x0.8 ports keep tubing tight.
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest force step in the family: 56.5 N push / 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa. Step up to the 16 mm bore for 100.5 N push, or down is not available since 12 mm is the base size. If you need a fixed stroke instead of a trimmed one, the ACP (replaced by ACE) covers that job; the ACPD double-rod version (replaced by ACEJ / ACE) suits push-pull from one body. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face, and I/Y rod knuckles fit the M3x0.5 female rod thread. The 75 mm stroke is non-standard for this bore, so order lead time applies. Replacement: ACEJ12X75.
Replacement checklist
Push is 56.5 N and pull is 42.4 N at 0.5 MPa; at 0.7 MPa push rises to 79.2 N and pull to 59.4 N, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -50 code is a 50 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw shortens the 75 mm extend stroke to any length from 25 to 75 mm. It is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so on air loss the piston can still drift. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, with a fixed TPU bumper at both ends.
No, the ACPJ12X75-50S is discontinued. The current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X75, which matches the same 12 mm bore, 75 mm stroke and force class. Because the ACP is DIN-standard while the ACE follows ISO 21287, confirm the mounting dimensions against your fixture before swapping. The 75 mm stroke is a made-to-order length for this bore, since the standard maximum is 50 mm.
