This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X75-50 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X75-50 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-50 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 75mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X75-50 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable stroke, the ACPJ12X75-50 uses a 12 mm bore and a 75 mm stroke that an external stop screw trims by up to 50 mm, giving a usable extend range of 25-75 mm. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N, rising to 79.2 N at 0.7 MPa with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The short ISO 21287 class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit.
The hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod with a fixed TPU bumper at each end, running at 30-500 mm/s on 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) filtered air. Plan on roughly 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (about 0.6 of the push rating), which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note the stop screw sets the end position only - on air loss the piston still drifts, so it is not a load-holding brake. This model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X75, and you should confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping since the ACP is DIN-standard.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X75-50 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X75-50 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×75 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -50 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 50 mm window lets a technician dial the 75 mm extend stroke down to 25 mm on a benchtop press ejecting plastic bushings, matching throw to part depth without re-plumbing.
With 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa and a body about 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, it clamps PCB test fixtures inside shallow gantry frames.
A short-stroke gate pushing blister packs sideways needs only the light 12 mm force class; order the -S version if CMSE / DMSE switches are added later.
At 12 mm bore this is the lightest force step: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. Step up to the 16 mm bore for 100.5 N or drop to a fixed-stroke ACP if no on-site trimming is needed. The 75 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore, so it is made to order. No magnet is fitted - order the -S code if you later need CMSE / DMSE switch positions. Female M3x0.5 rod thread, PT ports, FA flange or LB foot mounting. Replacement: ACEJ12X75.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa, 79.2 N push and 59.4 N pull. Theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, air filtered to 40 um.
The -50 code is a 50 mm adjustment window: a stop screw shortens the 75 mm extend stroke on site to any length down to 25 mm. It sets end position only and does not hold a load on air loss. The ACPJ family is discontinued; the ACEJ12X75 is the current ISO 21287 drop-in - confirm its mounting dimensions before swapping.
