This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X75-75S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X75-75S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-75S is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 75mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X75-75S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This double acting compact cylinder carries the -75S code: a 12 mm bore, a 75 mm made-to-order stroke and a full 75 mm adjustment window, so an external stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere in a 0-75 mm range on site. It is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X75, which keeps the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, because the ACPJ is DIN-standard. Push force is 56.5 N and pull 42.4 N at 0.5 MPa, rising to 79.2 N and 59.4 N at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical peak of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim pick-and-place heads and fixture guards where a full-length cylinder will not fit. The -S magnet is fitted on this unit, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clamped straight onto the hard-anodized aluminium body. Plan for roughly 34 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, and expect it to lift about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends, the S45C hard-chrome rod runs in a female M3x0.5 thread, and speed spans 30-500 mm/s.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X75-75S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X75-75S produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×75 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |

| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
Ejects microplate or vial samples from a fixture with a trimmed 0-75 mm extend stroke; 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa handles light plastic parts without crushing.
The fitted -S magnet drives CMSE or DMSE switches for clamp-confirmed feedback inside tight cleanroom jigs where the short body saves half the length of a profile cylinder.
Pushes tiny machined components off a die with 56.5 N at 0.5 MPa; the stop screw is reset per part family, and the M5x0.8 port keeps plumbing minimal.
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest ACPJ size: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa versus 100.5 N for the 16 mm bore and 157.1 N for the 20 mm. Step up if your tooling mass approaches the 2.9 kg vertical-lift figure. The 75 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is built to order. The 75 mm window means one cylinder can cover several product widths - set the stop screw once per changeover. Note the stop is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock: on air loss the piston still drifts. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the same face, and the ACEJ12X75 is the current replacement.
Replacement checklist
Push is 56.5 N and pull 42.4 N at 0.5 MPa; at 0.7 MPa push rises to 79.2 N and pull to 59.4 N, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, and the port is M5x0.8. The 75 mm stroke is a made-to-order size above the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore.
The -75 code gives a 75 mm adjustment window: a stop screw shortens the extend stroke anywhere from the full 75 mm down to near zero, so one cylinder serves multiple part widths. The -S magnet is fitted, so CMSE and DMSE reed or solid-state switches mount directly on the body. This model is discontinued - the ACEJ12X75 is the current ISO 21287 drop-in; verify its mounting dimensions before swapping.
