This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X75-75SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X75-75SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-75SB is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 75mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X75-75SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ12X75-75SB is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable stroke: an external stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere within the ordered 75 mm window, giving a usable range of 0-75 mm. The 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. A practical rule of thumb is to plan for about 60% of the rated push, so roughly 34 N (about 3.4 kgf) of real work at 0.5 MPa.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim fixtures and guarding where a full-length body cannot. The 75 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm maximum standard stroke for bore 12, so this unit is a made-to-order build. Note that the model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is ACEJ12X75, and buyers should confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping since the ACP is DIN-standard.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X75-75SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X75-75SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |

| ×75 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The fitted magnet plus a CMSE switch confirms the trimmed extend position before the next cycle starts, useful on pick-and-place heads where the 0-75 mm adjustable window lets one cylinder serve several part heights.
About 56.5 N of push at 0.5 MPa is enough to seat small PCB connectors and pins, and the stop screw sets the seating depth precisely within the 75 mm window.
With a 2:1 margin the rod lifts about 2.9 kg vertically, so microplate stacks and small sample carriers can be raised in tight analyser frames where a short body is mandatory.
At 12 mm bore this is the smallest force class in the range: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa versus 100.5 N for the 16 mm and 157.1 N for the 20 mm. If your part weight or clamping need sits near 34 N of working force, this size fits; step up to ACPJ16X75-75 if you need more margin. The male rod thread (B code) suits external knuckles, and the fitted -S magnet accepts CMSE / DMSE switches for end-position sensing. The stop screw adjusts the extend stroke only and is not a mid-stroke lock, so the piston still drifts on air loss. Order ACEJ12X75 as the current drop-in replacement.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -75 code is a 75 mm adjustment window: a stop screw shortens the 75 mm extend stroke by up to 75 mm, so the usable range is 0-75 mm. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) and speed is 30-500 mm/s. The 75 mm stroke is a made-to-order build because the bore 12 maximum standard stroke is 50 mm.
An external stop screw mechanically limits the extend stroke anywhere within the 75 mm window; it shortens the stroke only and never lengthens it past the ordered stroke. It is an end stop, not a load-holding brake, so the piston still drifts if air is lost. This model carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be mounted for end-position detection. The unit is discontinued; ACEJ12X75 is the current replacement, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before ordering.
