This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X75-75 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X75-75 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X75-75 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 75mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X75-75 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting and adjustable, the ACPJ12X75-75 is a DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 12 mm bore and a 75 mm stroke that an external stop screw trims anywhere in the 0-75 mm window. Push force is 56.5 N and pull 42.4 N at 0.5 MPa (rising to 79.2 N at 0.7 MPa), with a theoretical peak of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 75 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for bore 12, so this unit is made to order.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into slim pick-and-place heads and guarded test rigs. A practical sizing rule: plan on about 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, enough to lift roughly 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note this model is discontinued - the current drop-in is ACEJ12X75; confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X75-75 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X75-75 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×75 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 0-75 mm trim range lets one cylinder serve several fixture variants, with 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa clearing 2.9 kg-class parts from nests.
A 12 mm bore and short body fit inside tight instrument frames; the vertical-lift margin of about 2.9 kg covers vials and small carriers.
FA flange mounting and the adjustable extend stroke let operators dial in clamp travel per workpiece without changing cylinders.
At bore 12 you get 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa; if your jig needs more, step up to bore 16 (100.5 N) or bore 20 (157.1 N) in the same compact family. The stop screw only shortens the extend stroke - it is not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod still drifts if air is lost. This version has no magnet (the optional -S code adds one for CMSE / DMSE switches), a female M3x0.5 rod thread, PT ports and FA/LB mounting. Order ACEJ12X75 as the current-production replacement.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa push is 79.2 N and pull 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -75 code gives a 75 mm adjustment window, so the extend stroke can be trimmed anywhere from 0 to 75 mm via the external stop. The 75 mm stroke is non-standard for bore 12 (standard max 50 mm), so it is made to order. The model is discontinued; ACEJ12X75 is the replacement.
It is a short ISO 21287-class compact cylinder with a hard-anodized aluminium body, S45C hard-chrome rod, fixed TPU bumpers at both ends and M5x0.8 ports, running 30-500 mm/s at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi). This version has no magnet fitted; the optional -S code adds one so CMSE / DMSE switches can be mounted. For new builds, order ACEJ12X75 and confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.
