This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X80-75S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X80-75S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X80-75S is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 80mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X80-75S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting and adjustable, the ACPJ12X80-75S is a DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 12 mm bore, an 80 mm made-to-order stroke and a 75 mm adjustment window. A stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere in the 5-80 mm range on site. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 79.2 N push. The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures and guard rails. This model carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE / DMSE reed or solid-state switches can be clamped straight onto the body for end-of-stroke sensing.
Practically, plan on roughly 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa (about 0.6 of the rated 56.5 N), which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod with a female M3x0.5 thread, and fixed TPU bumpers sit at both ends. Note that this ACPJ model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ12X80, which matches the same bore, stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X80-75S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X80-75S produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 5-80 mm adjustable range lets a technician dial in the exact index distance on a 12 mm bore pushing 56.5 N at 0.5 MPa, ideal for light plastic trays in cleanroom feeders.
With the fitted -S magnet and a CMSE switch, the cylinder confirms a small connector housing is fully seated on an electronics assembly line, retracting under 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa.
About 34 N of practical clamp force at 0.5 MPa holds thin aluminium test coupons in a metrology jig, and the compact body fits where a full-length profile cylinder cannot.
For light clamping and positioning in the 5-80 mm stroke range, this 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa. If the load needs more, step up to the 16 mm bore (100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa) or the 20 mm bore (157.1 N). If 56.5 N is generous for the job, there is no smaller ACPJ bore, so check whether a shorter stroke or lower pressure suits. Remember the stop screw only shortens the extend stroke and does not hold a load if air is lost. FA/FB flanges and LB feet bolt to the mounting face, and the fitted -S magnet pairs with CMSE / DMSE switches. Since this model is discontinued, order the ACEJ12X80 as the current replacement and verify ISO 21287 dimensions first.
Replacement checklist
Push is 56.5 N and pull is 42.4 N at 0.5 MPa; at 0.7 MPa push is 79.2 N and pull 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 12 mm bore uses an M5x0.8 port and a 6 mm rod with female M3x0.5 thread. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, and the 80 mm stroke is a made-to-order length above the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore.
The -75 code gives a 75 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw shortens the 80 mm extend stroke down to as little as 5 mm, set by hand on the machine. The stop is a mechanical end stop only, not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod still drifts if air pressure is lost. Fixed TPU bumpers decelerate at both ends. This ACPJ is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X80, a drop-in in the same bore, stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, because the ACP is DIN-standard.
