This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X90-75 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X90-75 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X90-75 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 90mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X90-75 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This double acting compact cylinder trims its extend stroke on site: the -75 stop screw shortens the 90 mm stroke by up to 75 mm, giving a usable 15-90 mm range. The 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (79.2 N push at 0.7 MPa), and the short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into narrow jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit. Note the 90 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is made to order.
Plan on roughly 34 N (about 3.5 kgf) of real work at 0.5 MPa rather than the full 56.5 N rating, which equates to lifting about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, fixed TPU bumpers sit at both ends, and speed runs 30-500 mm/s at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi). This model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is ACEJ12X90, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X90-75 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X90-75 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa seats small connectors and clips in electronics fixtures, with the 15-90 mm trim range matching varied part heights.
A stop screw set near 15 mm gives a short, repeatable gate motion for sorting small components on a compact pick-and-place line.
The short body fits inside benchtop test rigs, pushing sample trays of about 2.9 kg vertical equivalent between stations at 30-500 mm/s.
At 12 mm bore you get 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa; step up to the 16 mm bore for 100.5 N or drop to a smaller frame only if your load is under about 34 N. The -75 window suits stations where one cylinder must serve several stroke settings. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the ISO 21287 face, and adding the optional -S magnet code enables CMSE / DMSE switches - without -S there is no magnet. This unit is discontinued, so order ACEJ12X90 as the current replacement and verify mounting dimensions.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -75 code is a 75 mm adjustment window: the stop screw trims the 90 mm extend stroke down to as little as 15 mm, so the usable range is 15-90 mm. The 90 mm stroke is non-standard for this 12 mm bore (standard maximum 50 mm) and is made to order. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) and speed is 30-500 mm/s.
It is a short-body compact cylinder with a hard-anodized aluminium body, S45C hard-chrome rod, M5x0.8 ports, a female M3x0.5 rod thread and fixed TPU bumpers at both ends - the body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder. The stop screw is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only; on air loss the piston still drifts, so it never holds a load. Position sensing needs the optional -S magnet code for CMSE / DMSE switches. This model is discontinued; the current drop-in is ACEJ12X90 - confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
