This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ16X100-75B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ16X100-75B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X100-75B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 100mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X100-75B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ16X100-75B is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 100 mm stroke by up to 75 mm, giving a usable range of 25-100 mm on site. This 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N push and 75.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (140.7 N push at 0.7 MPa), with a male rod thread (B code) and an M5x08 port. Note the 100 mm stroke exceeds the 75 mm standard maximum for bore 16, so it is a made-to-order stroke. This model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X100.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body cannot. For sizing, plan on roughly 60 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (about 0.6 of the rated push), which lifts about 3 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. FA/FB flanges and LB feet bolt to the standard face, and a fixed TPU bumper at each end absorbs end-of-travel shock. Order the optional -S code if you later need the magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches; this B-version has no magnet fitted.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ16X100-75B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 101 N | 75 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 141 N | 106 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 21 kgf | |
The ACEJ16X100-75B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 16 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×100 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa clinches small terminals and clips in an electronics assembly jig, with the 25-100 mm adjustable range tuned per product variant.
Mounted by FA flange beside a narrow conveyor lane, the short body kicks misaligned blister packs off the line within the trimmed extend stroke.
The male rod thread drives a small slide that advances sample trays one station at a time, lifting about 3 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin at 0.5 MPa.
Compare by force: the 12 mm bore gives 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa, while the 20 mm bore reaches 157.1 N - choose the 16 mm when 100.5 N at 0.5 MPa covers the job. The 75 mm adjustment window suits stations where the final extend position is tuned during commissioning. Remember the stop screw only shortens the extend stroke; it is not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod can drift if air is lost. Pair FA/FB flange or LB foot mounting with the standard face, and if position sensing is planned, order the -S magnet version instead. For new builds, specify the ACEJ16X100, the current drop-in successor in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N; at 0.7 MPa, 140.7 N push and 105.6 N pull; theoretical maximum is 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, air filtered to 40 um, M5x0.8 port, 8 mm rod with male thread, and a fixed TPU bumper at both ends. The 100 mm stroke is made to order, since the bore 16 standard maximum is 75 mm.
Sensing needs the optional -S magnet code; this version has no magnet, so CMSE / DMSE switches cannot be mounted unless you order the -S variant. The ACPJ family is discontinued - the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X100, a drop-in successor in the same bore, stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, because the ACP is DIN-standard.
