This model is discontinued

AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ16X100-75S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ16X100-75S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X100-75S

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X100-75S is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 100mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X100-75S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.

About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X100-75S

This ACPJ16X100-75S is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 100 mm stroke by up to 75 mm, giving a usable range of 25-100 mm. The 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N push and 75.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 140.7 N push at 0.7 MPa. The 100 mm stroke exceeds the 75 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a non-standard, made-to-order stroke. Note: this model is discontinued - the current-production replacement is ACEJ16X100, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding. The -S code means the magnet is fitted, so CMSE / DMSE reed or solid-state switches can be mounted for end-of-stroke sensing. As a rule of thumb, plan on roughly 60 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 5 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. A fixed TPU bumper at each end decelerates the piston; it never locks or holds a load, and on air loss the piston still drifts.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ16X100-75S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

Where the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X100-75S Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Small-parts ejection in assembly fixtures

The 25-100 mm adjustable range lets a technician trim the extend stroke so a 16 mm bore pushing 100.5 N at 0.5 MPa ejects finished parts from a nest without bottoming out.

sensors

Position-verified test stations

With the -S magnet fitted, CMSE / DMSE switches confirm extend and retract on a benchtop leak or go/no-go gauge station running at 30-500 mm/s.

compress

Clamping in compact electronics jigs

About 60 N of usable clamp force at 0.5 MPa holds PCB assemblies or connector housings in a short-body fixture where a full-length profile cylinder will not fit.

Replacing the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X100-75S with the ACEJ16X100-75S

Size the bore by load: if 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is marginal, step up to the 20 mm bore (157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa); if you need less force, the 12 mm bore gives 56.5 N. The 75 mm adjustment window suits fixtures where the final extend position is tuned on site. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face, and the fitted -S magnet pairs with CMSE / DMSE switches. Replacement: order ACEJ16X100 and verify ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.

Replacement checklist

  • ✓ Current-production ACE → ACEJ16X100-75S
  • ✓ Same bore / stroke / force class
  • ✓ Confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions
  • ✓ Port/thread type (PT / G)
  • ✓ Add -S for magnet if you need sensors

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X100-75S FAQ

At 0.5 MPa it pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N; at 0.7 MPa push is 140.7 N and pull 105.6 N; theoretical maximum is 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -75 code is a 75 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw shortens the 100 mm extend stroke on site, so the working range is 25-100 mm. It cannot lengthen the stroke past 100 mm, and the stop is not a mid-stroke lock - on air loss the piston still drifts.

No - the ACPJ family is discontinued. The current-production drop-in is ACEJ16X100 (swap the P for an E), which matches the same 16 mm bore, 100 mm stroke and force class in the ISO 21287 short-body format. Because the ACP is DIN-standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. The 100 mm stroke is non-standard for this bore (standard maximum is 75 mm), so it is made to order.
