This model is discontinued

AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ16X100-75SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ16X100-75SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X100-75SB

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X100-75SB is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 100mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X100-75SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.

About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X100-75SB

The ACPJ16X100-75SB is a discontinued double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke. Air drives the rod out and pulls it back, and a stop screw trims the 100 mm stroke by up to 75 mm, giving a usable range of 25-100 mm. At 0.5 MPa the 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N push and 75.4 N pull, rising to 140.7 N push at 0.7 MPa. The male rod thread (B code) and the optional -S magnet carried by this model let you bolt on a knuckle and mount CMSE or DMSE switches for end-of-stroke sensing. Note the 100 mm stroke exceeds the 75 mm standard maximum for bore 16, so it is a made-to-order length.

The hard-anodized aluminium body keeps the mounting length roughly 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures, slides and guarding where a full-length body cannot. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends and simply decelerates the piston at the ends of travel. Plan on about 60 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, which corresponds to lifting roughly 5 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. This model is discontinued: the current-production replacement is ACEJ16X100, so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ16X100-75SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

Where the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X100-75SB Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Small-parts ejection on assembly stations

The 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to kick stamped terminals or molded caps off a nest, and the 25-100 mm trim range lets the setter dial in the exact eject position without re-piping.

compress

Light press-fitting of connectors

With about 60 N of usable force and a male-threaded rod for a knuckle, this cylinder seats USB housings or dip-switches into plastic boards where a heavier bore would mark the part.

sensors

Position-verified test fixtures

Because the -S magnet is fitted, CMSE or DMSE switches report full retract on a PCB test gate, and the shortened extend stroke keeps the probe plate clear of the operator's hand.

Replacing the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X100-75SB with the ACEJ16X100-75SB

Size this bore when your load needs roughly 60 N of working force at 0.5 MPa; step down to a 12 mm bore (56.5 N push) only for lighter clamping, or up to a 20 mm bore (157.1 N push) if the load grows. The 75 mm adjustment window suits stations where the final position is tuned on the machine, not on paper. Remember the stop screw is a mechanical end stop only - on air loss the piston still drifts, so add a separate lock if you need position holding. FA/FB flanges and LB feet bolt straight to the face. Order the ACEJ16X100 as the current drop-in and verify ISO 21287 dimensions.

Replacement checklist

  • ✓ Current-production ACE → ACEJ16X100-75SB
  • ✓ Same bore / stroke / force class
  • ✓ Confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions
  • ✓ Port/thread type (PT / G)
  • ✓ Add -S for magnet if you need sensors

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X100-75SB FAQ

At 0.5 MPa it pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N; at 0.7 MPa those rise to 140.7 N and 105.6 N, with a theoretical maximum of 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is double acting with a 75 mm adjustment window on a 100 mm stroke (usable 25-100 mm), an M5x0.8 port, a male rod thread, a fixed TPU bumper at both ends, speed 30-500 mm/s and operating pressure 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi). The 100 mm stroke is a made-to-order length because bore 16 normally tops out at 75 mm.

Order the ACEJ16X100, the current-production ISO 21287 successor made by swapping the P for an E. It matches the same bore, stroke and force class and keeps the short body that saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder. Because the ACPJ was built to a DIN-standard footprint, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before you swap, and re-check the port and rod-thread positions on the ACE drawing.
