This model is discontinued

AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ16X110-100B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ16X110-100B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X110-100B

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X110-100B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 110mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X110-100B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.

About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X110-100B

This AirTAC ACPJ16X110-100B is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 110 mm stroke by up to 100 mm, giving a usable range of 10-110 mm. The 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N push and 75.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 140.7 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical maximum of 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 110 mm stroke exceeds the 75 mm standard limit for bore 16, so this unit is a made-to-order build.

The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit. In practice, plan on roughly 60 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 5 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note this model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ16X110, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. No magnet is fitted (the optional -S code adds one), and the rod end is male thread with a PT port.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ16X110-100B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

Where the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X110-100B Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Multi-product jig clamping

On an electronics assembly fixture handling PCB trays of varying heights, the 100 mm window lets one cylinder clamp stacks from 10 mm to 110 mm thick with 100.5 N of push at 0.5 MPa.

packaging

Carton ejection on a packing line

A packaging machine pushing finished cartons off a conveyor uses the male-thread rod with a knuckle to deliver 140.7 N at 0.7 MPa across the full 110 mm stroke.

science

Lab sample press station

A small laboratory press for capping sample vials uses the 10-110 mm adjustable range and about 5 kg of vertical lift capacity at a 2:1 margin, with the fixed TPU bumper quieting each end of travel.

Replacing the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X110-100B with the ACEJ16X110-100B

Size both ways: the 12 mm bore gives 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa for lighter clamping, while the 20 mm bore reaches 157.1 N if your fixture needs more force. The 100 mm adjustment window suits stations where one cylinder must serve several product lengths; remember the stop screw only shortens the extend stroke and drifts on air loss, so it is not a mid-stroke lock. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face, and CMSE / DMSE switches work only if you order the -S magnet version. For new projects, specify the ACEJ16X110, the current replacement in the same bore, stroke and force class.

Replacement checklist

  • ✓ Current-production ACE → ACEJ16X110-100B
  • ✓ Same bore / stroke / force class
  • ✓ Confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions
  • ✓ Port/thread type (PT / G)
  • ✓ Add -S for magnet if you need sensors

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X110-100B FAQ

At 0.5 MPa it pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 140.7 N and pulls 105.6 N; theoretical maximum is 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -100 code is a 100 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw shortens the 110 mm extend stroke on site, so the usable range is 10-110 mm. It cannot lengthen the stroke past 110 mm, and the stop is not a load-holding brake - the piston drifts if air is lost. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) at 30-500 mm/s.

No - the ACPJ family is discontinued. The current-production drop-in is the ACEJ16X110 (swap the P for an E), which matches the same 16 mm bore, 110 mm stroke and force class on the ISO 21287 short body. Because the ACP was built to a DIN standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before swapping. Also note this version has no magnet, so position switches need the -S magnet code with CMSE or DMSE sensors.
