This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ16X110-100SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ16X110-100SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X110-100SB is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 110mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X110-100SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This ACPJ16X110-100SB is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 110 mm stroke anywhere inside the ordered 100 mm window, giving a usable range of 10-110 mm. At 0.5 MPa the 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N push and 75.4 N pull, rising to 140.7 N at 0.7 MPa. The 110 mm stroke exceeds the 75 mm standard limit for bore 16, so this unit is a made-to-order build. Note that the ACPJ family is discontinued - the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X110, same bore, stroke and force class.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight pick-and-place gantries and fixture plates. Because the -S magnet is fitted on this model, CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clamped directly to the barrel for end-of-stroke signalling. In practice, plan on about 60 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 5 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The male rod thread (B code) suits knuckle and tooling adapters; operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) at 30-500 mm/s.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ16X110-100SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 101 N | 75 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 141 N | 106 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 21 kgf | |
The ACEJ16X110-100SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 16 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×110 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -100 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa holds small aluminium or plastic workpieces in drilling and milling jigs, with the stop screw set to the exact clamp position needed per fixture.
With about 5 kg of vertical lift capacity at a 2:1 margin, the 16 mm bore handles connector blocks, caps and stamped clips in electronics assembly cells.
The fitted -S magnet accepts CMSE or DMSE switches, so the 110 mm stroke can confirm full extend before a carton or tray is released on a conveyor line.
Size against neighbours: bore 12 pushes 56.5 N at 0.5 MPa, this 16 mm bore gives 100.5 N, and bore 20 reaches 157.1 N - step up if your part weight or friction load approaches the 60 N usable figure. The stop screw only shortens the extend stroke; it is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod can still drift if air is lost. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face. For new designs, order the ACEJ16X110 instead - the ACPJ is discontinued - and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP was DIN-standard.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N; at 0.7 MPa, 140.7 N push and 105.6 N pull; theoretical maximum is 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -100 code means the stop screw can shorten the 110 mm extend stroke by up to 100 mm, so the working range is 10-110 mm. Air supply is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, with a fixed TPU bumper at both ends. The 110 mm stroke is a made-to-order length because bore 16 normally tops out at 75 mm.
No - the ACPJ series is discontinued. The direct successor is the ACEJ16X110 (swap the P for an E): same 16 mm bore, 110 mm stroke and force class in the current ISO 21287 compact body. Before swapping, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture, because the original ACP was built to a DIN-standard footprint. FA/FB flange and LB foot options carry over, and the male rod thread on this B-coded unit matches the ACEJ male-thread option.
