This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ16X110-10B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ16X110-10B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X110-10B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 110mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X110-10B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACPJ16X110-10B is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 110 mm stroke by up to 10 mm on site, giving a usable range of 100-110 mm. This 16 mm bore unit pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N at 0.5 MPa (140.7 N / 105.6 N at 0.7 MPa), runs on 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) filtered air at 30-500 mm/s, and carries a fixed TPU bumper at both ends. The B code gives a male rod thread on the 8 mm rod; the port is M5x0.8.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures where a full-length body cannot. At 0.5 MPa plan on about 60 N (roughly 6 kg) of usable push once friction and margin are allowed for - enough to lift about 5 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note the 110 mm stroke exceeds the 75 mm standard maximum for bore 16, so it is made to order. This model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is ACEJ16X110 - confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACPJ follows the DIN-standard footprint.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ16X110-10B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 101 N | 75 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 141 N | 106 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 21 kgf | |
The ACEJ16X110-10B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 16 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×110 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -10 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
Trims a 100-110 mm clamp stroke inside a dense machining jig where the short body and 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa hold small aluminium workpieces against a fixture stop.
The male rod thread drives a kick-off paddle that nudges underweight cartons off a conveyor; the 10 mm adjustment window lets technicians dial the extend stroke to the lane edge.
About 6 kg of usable push at 0.5 MPa seats sample vials into an analytical bench fixture, with the M5x0.8 port keeping tubing runs slim inside the instrument enclosure.
Size the job both ways: bore 12 delivers 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa, while bore 20 reaches 157.1 N - pick bore 16 when your load sits between those figures and the 100-110 mm trimmed stroke fits. The stop screw is a mechanical end stop only; on air loss the piston drifts, so it never holds a load mid-stroke. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face, and if you need position sensing, order the -S variant with the optional magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches - this B-coded model has no magnet. For new builds, specify the ACEJ16X110 instead.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N; at 0.7 MPa push rises to 140.7 N and pull to 105.6 N. Theoretical maximum at 1.0 MPa is 20.5 kgf. It is double acting, runs 30-500 mm/s on 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) air, and the 110 mm stroke can be trimmed by up to 10 mm via the stop screw. This stroke is made to order, since bore 16 standard tops out at 75 mm.
The -10 code sets a 10 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw shortens the extend stroke anywhere between 100 and 110 mm - it cannot lengthen the stroke past 110 mm. The TPU bumpers at each end are fixed pads, not adjustable devices, and they never lock a load. The ACPJ family is discontinued; the drop-in successor is the ACEJ16X110, so verify the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before ordering the swap.
