This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ16X110-20B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ16X110-20B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X110-20B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 110mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X110-20B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This is a double acting, adjustable-stroke compact cylinder in the discontinued AirTAC ACPJ family. The 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N push and 75.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (140.7 N / 105.6 N at 0.7 MPa), with a theoretical peak of 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -20 code gives a 20 mm adjustment window: a stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere from 90 to 110 mm on site, so one cylinder covers several fixture positions. The 110 mm stroke exceeds the 75 mm standard maximum for bore 16, so it is a made-to-order build.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, letting it slide into tight jigs and guarding. A rule of thumb: plan on about 60 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 3 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The male rod thread (B code) suits external knuckles, and the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches. This model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is ACEJ16X110 - confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ16X110-20B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 101 N | 75 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 141 N | 106 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 21 kgf | |
The ACEJ16X110-20B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 16 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×110 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -20 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 90-110 mm trimmed extend stroke clears finished 16 mm-class parts from shallow molds, with 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa enough for lightweight scrap ejection.
A stop screw set between 90 and 110 mm lets one cylinder serve two fixture heights; the male rod thread takes an external knuckle for angled stops.
The short body fits under low gantry rails where a full-length profile cylinder cannot, and 75.4 N pull retracts trays reliably at 30-500 mm/s.
At 16 mm bore you get 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa; step down to ACPJ12 (56.5 N) for lighter clamps or up to ACPJ20 (157.1 N) when the load grows. Remember the stop screw only shortens the extend stroke - it is not a mid-stroke lock, so the piston still drifts if air is lost. Mount via FA/FB flange or LB foot, and order the -S code if you need CMSE / DMSE switch positions. For new projects, specify the ACEJ16X110 instead.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N; at 0.7 MPa, 140.7 N push and 105.6 N pull; theoretical maximum 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, port M5x0.8, rod 8 mm with male thread. The 110 mm stroke is a made-to-order size above the 75 mm standard maximum for bore 16.
The -20 code is a 20 mm window: an external stop screw shortens the extend stroke anywhere in the 90-110 mm range. It is a mechanical end stop only - it never holds a load if air is lost. The ACPJ family is discontinued; the current drop-in is the ISO 21287 ACEJ16X110, same bore, stroke and force class. Confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard.
