This model is discontinued

AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ16X110-75S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ16X110-75S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X110-75S

This is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: the -75 stop screw trims the 110 mm stroke anywhere in a 75 mm window, giving a usable range of 35-110 mm. The 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N push and 75.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 140.7 N at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical peak of 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 110 mm stroke exceeds the 75 mm standard maximum for bore 16, so it is a made-to-order build.

The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends, the hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, and the -S magnet this model carries lets you bolt on CMSE or DMSE switches. In practice, plan for roughly 60 N (about 6 kgf) of real work at 0.5 MPa, or lift about 5 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note this model is discontinued; the current drop-in is ACEJ16X110, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ16X110-75S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

Where the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X110-75S Is Used

tune

Adjustable ejection on assembly fixtures

The 35-110 mm trimming range lets a technician dial in the exact eject position on a jig without changing cylinders, using the 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa to clear light parts.

sensors

Position-verified clamping in test rigs

With the -S magnet fitted, CMSE or DMSE switches confirm extend and retract on an electronics test bench, while the 75.4 N pull retracts the clamp between cycles.

compress

Short-stroke press in lab automation

At 0.7 MPa the bore delivers 140.7 N, enough for light pressing or marking tasks in a compact benchtop unit where the short body saves half the length of a profile cylinder.

Replacing the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X110-75S with the ACEJ16X110-75S

Size both ways: if 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is marginal for your load, step up to bore 20 for 157.1 N; if it is generous, bore 12 gives 56.5 N in a smaller envelope. The 75 mm adjustment window suits stations where the final extend position is tuned on the machine. Remember the stop screw only shortens the extend stroke - it is not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod can drift if air is lost. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings fit the ISO 21287 face, and the fitted -S magnet accepts CMSE / DMSE switches. Order ACEJ16X110 as the current-production replacement.

Replacement checklist

  • ✓ Current-production ACE → ACEJ16X110-75S
  • ✓ Same bore / stroke / force class
  • ✓ Confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions
  • ✓ Port/thread type (PT / G)
  • ✓ Add -S for magnet if you need sensors

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X110-75S FAQ

At 0.5 MPa it pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 140.7 N and pulls 105.6 N; theoretical maximum is 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -75 code is a 75 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw shortens the 110 mm extend stroke, so the working range is 35-110 mm. The stop is a mechanical end stop only - on air loss the piston still drifts, so it is not a load-holding brake. The 110 mm stroke is a made-to-order build above the 75 mm standard maximum for bore 16.

The ACPJ family is discontinued. The current-production drop-in is ACEJ16X110 (swap the P for an E), which matches the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard. This -S version carries the optional magnet, so CMSE / DMSE reed or solid-state switches can be mounted for position feedback. Air supply is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, and both ends carry a fixed TPU bumper.
