This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ16X110-75 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ16X110-75 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X110-75 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 110mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X110-75 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This ACPJ16X110-75 is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: the -75 code gives a 75 mm stop-screw window, so the 110 mm stroke can be trimmed anywhere down to 35 mm on site. The 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N push and 75.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa (140.7 N / 105.6 N at 0.7 MPa), with a theoretical peak of 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. As a rule of thumb, plan on roughly 60 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 5 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin - enough for small clamps, gates and part pushers.
Note the 110 mm stroke exceeds the 75 mm standard maximum for bore 16, so this unit is a made-to-order build. The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, and the fixed TPU bumper at each end decelerates the piston. This model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ16X110 (same bore, stroke and force class) - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ16X110-75 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 101 N | 75 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 141 N | 106 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 21 kgf | |
The ACEJ16X110-75 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 16 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×110 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
A 60 N usable push at 0.5 MPa suits light staking or marking on small electronics brackets, with the stop screw set to a repeatable 40 mm working stroke.
The 35-110 mm trim range lets one cylinder kick undersized cartons off a narrow conveyor where a full-length body would not fit.
Lifts about 5 kg vertically with margin, ideal for raising small sample trays in compact test fixtures; add the -S magnet if position switches are needed later.
Size both ways: if 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is more than your load needs, the ACPJ12 at 56.5 N push saves space; if you need more, the ACPJ20 gives 157.1 N in the same short-body family. The stop screw only shortens the extend stroke - it is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so the piston still drifts if air is lost. This version has a female M4x0.7 rod thread, PT ports, no magnet (the optional -S code adds one for CMSE / DMSE switches), and FA/FB flange or LB foot mounting. Order the ACEJ16X110 as the current replacement.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N; at 0.7 MPa, 140.7 N push and 105.6 N pull. Theoretical maximum is 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, air filtered to 40 um, temperature -20 to +70 C.
An external stop screw shortens the extend stroke by up to 75 mm within the ordered window, giving a usable 35-110 mm range; it cannot lengthen the stroke past 110 mm and does not hold a load on air loss. The ACPJ16X110-75 is discontinued - the ACEJ16X110 is the current ISO 21287 drop-in, so verify its mounting dimensions before swapping.
