The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ16X120-40S is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 120mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ16X120-40S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting with an adjustable stroke, the ACPJ16X120-40S is a discontinued DIN-standard compact cylinder: a 16 mm bore drives an 8 mm rod through a 120 mm stroke that a stop screw can trim by up to 40 mm, giving a usable extend range of 80-120 mm. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 100.5 N and pulls 75.4 N; at 0.7 MPa those rise to 140.7 N and 105.6 N, with a theoretical peak of 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 120 mm stroke exceeds the 75 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore, so it is made to order.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it suits narrow slides and guarded stations. Rule of thumb: expect roughly 60 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, enough to lift about 5 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The -S code on this model means the magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE switches can be mounted. Replacement: order ACEJ16X120, the current-production drop-in, and confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

The stop screw only shortens the extend stroke within the 40 mm window - it is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so the piston still drifts if air is lost. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face, and the fitted -S magnet accepts CMSE / DMSE switches. For new builds order ACEJ16X120 and verify ISO 21287 dimensions.
